Art Group this morning. 🤗
I really enjoy it. A place to go to not only create, ( sometimes I don’t even do that 🤭) , but to be amongst likeminded people. You can chat if you want, or not.
I’m working on this slightly abstract botanical piece , ( you know me, always got 2-3 on the go at once) . Loving the colours!

It’s taken a while, but I finally have the space to tap into my ‘ancient egypt energies’. There’s been a lot going on in my life behind the scenes ( health stuff) & im coming out the other side …
Went thru my trip photos last week & felt very emotional. Every part of that 6 weeks was felt on a very deep level , and knowing myself so well, I knew it would be a long time before I be able to actually look at the trip with a perspective of capturing the vibe to paint, on all levels. I didn’t want come back and just paint ‘anything’ for the sake of it, from the experience… . I didn’t want to just pick up a photo ( there’s thousands 😂) and replicate it, because that’s not what I’m about with my art.
Yesterday I started this.
Evolving in the moment as I do.
I have intention, but not direction.
I have the inner knowing… it’s revealing itself as I go.

Painting in acrylic / acrylic fluid & ink.
Small amount of collage for texture .

This labour of love now finished & sold.
Nearly kept it, but really, I don’t paint for me, and never have. The idea of keeping it is nice, but the reality feels weird 😆
Besides that I have no wall space 😎

Art Group this stunning morning…
still not convinced I come for the art 🙃😆
A chat , a cuppa, staring out the window… all great reasons to hang with arty folk for a couple of hours on a Wednesday.
It’s good for me, I can get isolated on my property which is hard to leave at times. Making myself join art group was such a good thing for me :)

Will continue on her over the weekend. 🥰
Gee I’m SO LOVING extended studio time. My whole process has changed in the last 6-8 months.
Sourcing my inspiration from different avenues and what a massive difference it is making to my whole process!
I needn’t have worried about the time off while I did all my art retreats over spring, summer and autumn, thinking that I might have to teach myself how to paint again LOL… it’s feeling new and fresh & I’m feeling those moments of joy I used to have back in the very early years….
Oh, as a side , and this girl reminds me of the bust of Nefertiti.

The beginning is always my favourite part… ✨

This is where intuition takes over. Layers are built, using, collage, ink, acrylic… colours start talking to each other, and a story begins to reveal itself long before I know where it’s headed. She’s only just waking up. 🌙🎨💛

This painting has been sitting in my studio for quite some time.

Every now and then I’d walk past it, look at it, add a little something, then walk away again. It felt unfinished, but I couldn’t quite see where it wanted to go.

Today, something finally shifted, bringing a sense of playfulness, luck, and life to the piece.

Sometimes paintings have their own timing. They can’t be rushed.

I think this one finally found its way home. ❤️🐞

3 years ago, StabiCraft used my image to wrap on one of the boats for the New Zealand boat show! So cool!!
