It gives us great pleasure to announce that the lead artwork for RAW 2026 is....
SHORTYDUBS!

Shortydubs (a.k.a. Brad Dring) is no stranger to RAW and is simply going from strength to strength every year. His iconic style is proving to be a firm favourite amongst RAW visitors (Brad was one of our best sellers in the past two RAWs) and we are very proud to have one of his artworks profiling our event.

This is also a landmark year for Raglan with the WSL and we're also pleased we can give a subtle nod to this world surf event in our chosen artwork style for this year, from a Raglan artist who really seems to be making waves!

The chosen artwork is entitled 'Bored Riders' and it is a mixed media on wood panel artwork.

Brad's signature style will be featured on the Raglan Arts Guide front cover, as well as on signage and other marketing material.

Raglan folks! Don't forget our Artist Huddle tonight. Come meet fellow artists and share your views on RAW 2026.

If you’re new to RAW, an established fave on the trail, or just a little inquisitive about how RAW could work for you, come join us tonight at 6pm.

We will share info from the 2025 artist survey, plus sales data. We will also share important registration info. Registration opens NEXT WEEK.

This is an appreciation post for our many incredible visitors! Meet Gavin and Michelle McConnell who have huge respect from the organisers as they went to every single studio! See? It can be done! 🤣 We hope everyone had an amazing time, we were blown away by the visitors in town and the vibe and celebration of all our artists. THE HATCH - our emerging artist exhibition has their opening on NOW at the Town Hall (from 6.30pm) - head down and support our next wave of rising stars!

The Hatch is a great place to be this arts weekend, with a collective of emerging artists showcasing their work - so much talent in one place!
Open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10-5 make sure you go and check them out!

A big thanks to Rangitahi Peninsula, Raglan , the Waikato District Creative Communities and Stageset for helping us put this on. And to Zasha Skye for curating and creating this awesome exhibition.

Not only is there our self-guided arts trail on this weekend, but many events...

Head to some of the artist/exhibition openings on Friday night, including Seb Hart's at Raglan Tattoo, The Hatch opening at the town hall, next door in the supper room is Marrianne and Claudia's opening. Then pop down to Cross street to Chris Meek's opening.

We have live artist demos and displays including:
- Benjamin Grant's woodbending demo at 10-11am a The Hut on Sat & Sun
- Theo Arraj's live painting of a new mural next to the Raglan Museum
- A community Canvas with Yaniv Janson at the Old School Saturday 11.30am-1.30pm
- 5 minute quirky portraits with the Artful Dodgers at the Stewart St Church hall
- Live kinetic painting with Simon Dickey on Volcom Lane at 4-4.30pm Saturday

Plus locals know how good a Tony Sly seconds sale is - head down to the Wharf and grab yourself a bargain!

And of course, the Raglan Country and Blues Festival is on this weekend too - you won't be bored!
