The sea is flat as.. the surfer’s energy looks about the same! You can imagine how deflated he would feel after showing up all good to go!

The reference photo for this has sat in an album for a few years now, having gained permission to paint from the photographer who captured this.
This is New Brighton beach.

We asked Ai to caption this and the results were amusing..

“The Bustle”
I have been working away on this wire sculpture for several weeks and it’s great to have it finally finished
Always a challenge at this time of the year to get any spray painting done!!
I’m loving the copper!!
This sculpture can be indoors or out, looks amazing when lit and would look fabulous positioned in a lovely garden setting

This artwork is destined for Kaiapoi Art Expo which opens on Friday 17th July and continues Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July.

Today I had the pleasure of delivering this Limited Edition print on canvas to a delightful lady in Greymouth..
I met Lorraine at Art in the Park last month and we decided that I would bring the artwork over to see how it would look above her beautiful hall table in the entrance to her home.
She is very happy with her purchase and it was great to see it up!!

Great excuse for a weekend on the Coast
The weather is perfect and there has been plenty of time for painting 🎨

“Dahlias “
Another collage for my collection destined for Kaiapoi Art Expo in July..

These have not long finished flowering in my garden
I love the little shadows that appear around the edges, creating a 3D effect
The colours of Autumn outside my studio window have found their way into this artwork 🍂

“The Waimakariri”

This has been a pleasure to paint! I captured the reference photo on our way to the West Coast late January. It was one of those rare occasions where Tim actually stopped to let my get a decent photo…I think he also appreciated the moment, the scene was spectacular with the evening rays of sunlight lighting up the braided river
I am ever in awe of our beautiful country 🫶

Anemones 2
Today I managed to finish this 2nd collage artwork and send off my entry to Kaiapoi Art Expo
April has been a busy month!
These beautiful delicate flowers have almost finished and I am going to miss seeing them in my garden

Collage.. my newest favourite thing!!
I started this piece while at the Oxford A&P Show and then continued working on it during Art in the Park in Greymouth the following weekend…

I’ve just finished this in time to photograph it as part of my Kaiapoi Art Expo entry..
I am loving this process, a mix of drawing, painting, carefully cutting around individual flowers and then arranging in place.
