‘MATOMATO’

In Māori cosmology, the term māreikura refers to high-ranking female spiritual beings, of immense mana and grace. This work channels their essence: the swirling galaxies in her hair, the glowing symbols across her form, the dreamlike hues of deep space—all echo the vastness of the cosmos she traverses.

She stands at the threshold of the celestial realms. Her presence invites stillness, her colours evoke awakening. Each star, each spiral, each sacred mark is a tohu—a call to remember our divine origins and the energetic blueprint we carry within.
