I'm thrilled to be invited back to exhibit in this year's Art House Tour; a unique biennial event run by the Auckland Grammar School Foundation Trust.

Here's a detailed peek at the three paintings I'll have on display. I'm particularly excited about these ones, as they've never been shown before! The subtle nuances of colour and light in my paintings are often hard to capture in a photograph, so it'll be wonderful to share these works in person, where they can really come to life.

Some exciting news! ✨
My painting 'New Direction' has been selected as a finalist in the 10th Annual Kumeu Arts Award. I'm incredibly grateful to have this work included in such a strong selected exhibition and am looking forward to seeing the other finalists' works and the exhibition as a whole - congratulations to all the other artists involved!
Awards Night: 31 October. Exhibition: 2- 25 November.

The last few years have brought big life shifts; both as a woman and as a mother, and for the first time, I had long stretches where painting felt flat - no spark, no clarity, no real confidence. Those periods were uncomfortable, but I kept showing up anyway - because my art will always be the thread I hold onto, the thing I return to no matter what’s happening around me 💜

And that's what this exhibition Grounded is about. It’s a show about staying connected to the work - patience, persistence - even when the world is speeding up around you. Bringing together 50 artists, its a chance to slow down and spend time with art made in real time, by real people!

I'll be adding a splash of colour to the walls with 'Reflective' and 'Colourised' on display. Join us for the opening night tomorrow, 5pm, 3 Sept Contemporary, 228 Orakei Rd, Remuera

Excited to be a part of this show 😊
Opening: 3 Sept, 5pm-8pm
Exhibition dates: 2-13 Sept

'In a world where images and ideas are consumed at an ever increasing pace, Grounded celebrates the artists who remain connected to their practice, making work with patience, persistence and care. The exhibition offers a chance to slow down, engage with original artworks and support the people whose creative commitment continues despite the pressures of an increasingly fast moving world.'

Unfortunately the house I'm currently living in doesn't have great light or spaces for taking insitu photos of my paintings, so I'm a new convert to art visualizing tools! So much fun masquerading as an interior designer, playing around with placement in different rooms with changing wall textures and colours that I hadn't even thought of 🤩

Now and again I love to do abstract drawings on paper using pens, pencils, pastels-whatever the mood takes at the time! Titled 'Circle Home', I framed these two drawings as one piece and its currently on show at Northart for their 'Works on Paper' exhibition. I went along to the opening and there's some really wonderful and diverse works on display. The show is on till the 23rd of May, so pop in if you have the opportunity 😊

Its always nice to see pictures of my paintings in their new home! This one was specifically commissioned for this space - I measured and made the canvas to fit and the image was based on an island holiday photograph that was given to me. The most important thing was capturing the blue of the water...it's new owner is very happy and it really does look like the painting has always been there 🩵💙

February/March studio snapshots...
Have really enjoyed being back in the studio, freeing myself up by playing around with different colours, techniques and materials! I revisited a couple of abstracts-one that never quite worked for me and another I left unfinished from a couple of years ago. And I created a seascape for my mum-a bit outside my usual approach, but surprisingly happy with the process and result!
