Introducing Lumiere!!! Played by Casper!!

Casper has, like a few of the other cast members, written a description for you to get to know him more.

Hello!!! My name is Casper and this year I will be playing the role of Lumiere!!!
Last year I played the role of Percy Jackson in The Lightning Thief, and during Legally Blonde (2024) I was on curtains. I’m very excited to take on this role as he is a very silly character, though holding my arms up for every scene onstage will definitely be a challenge. I relate to Lumiere a great deal as I also was transformed into a household object a decade or so ago and I too have a questionable french accent. I’m very excited to be working with such a wonderful group of people this year, it's going to be a GREAT show!!

Introducing Cogsworth!!! Played by Adam, who has a little something to say.

Hi, I'm Adam and I'm so excited for this to be my first role in a school production! I’m so glad to have a role in such an amazing show for my final year It’s gonna be so much fun playing such a serious yet silly character and it's awesome being such close friends with the whole cast! I have really found myself through doing drama at Spotswood College. I'm a year 13 and since year 9 i’ve always wanted to be involved in the school production and have been too nervous, with doing ensemble in last year’s The Lightning Thief being my first one!

Introducing Mrs Potts!!!!

Paige has been nice enough to write you all a description for you to get to know her.

Hi! My name is Paige and I'm going to be playing Mrs Potts in this year's production of Beauty and the Beast. I started doing shows with SAPA in 2023, with Addams Family, when I was a year 9 so this will be my fourth show with SAPA. In previous shows I have played an ancestor (Addams Family), Kate/dancer (Legally Blonde) and Sally Jackson (Percy Jackson). Outside of performing, I like to do crafts and enjoy spending time with my family. I am looking forward to taking on the challenge of playing Mrs Potts this year, especially since this is a more physically demanding role than I'm used to aside from dancing. I’m excited to bring this iconic and warm-hearted character to life!

TICKETS ARE ON SALE!!!! SAPA finally has tickets available on Trybooking.com ( Link in Bio ). Our performances are from the 19th to the 22nd and the 26th and the 29th of August at 7 pm!!!! ( Aside from our matinées on Saturday at 1 pm!! ) with prices at $17 for students and $27 for adults. Doors will open 30 minutes prior, at the Spotswood College Hall. Make sure to buy your tickets sooner rather than later, you will regret not buying them sooner!!!

Introducing an old timer, Maurice!!!, played by Adora!!!
Adora is a Year 13 student who has been part of Bugsy Malone, The Addams Family, and Percy Jackson. Adora is a very confident actor and is helping in directing Beauty and the Beast with many other senior students. She also won the regionals for SGCNZ, directing her own Shakespearean scene and taking her group to Nationals in Wellington. Adora is very excited to perform Maurice in her last musical at Spotswood College. Keep your eyes peeled for more fascinating posts like these.

Introducing our Babette, Jamie!!!!
Jamie is a year 12 student who has helped backstage with us in the past for Percy Jackson. They have also done many different stage shows and some on-screen acting outside of SAPA, giving them much experience within the acting community. Not only are they acting onstage, but they are also a part of the production team, being the head of finances and the co-head of fundraising. Give a warm round of likes for our Wardrobe, played by Fable!!
Fable is an ex-student who played many characters in the past SAPA productions, Blousey Brown in Bugsy Malone, Alice Beinik in Addams Family, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and Aries/Ensemble in Percy Jackson. They have also done other shows outside of SAPA, such as understudying Wendy in Wendy Junior for the New Plymouth Operatic Society. They can't wait to perform for all of you and show off all their amazing outfits for Belle!!!
