I’m such a DIGITAL LUDDITE that I don’t know how to turn this photo round. But I HAVE TO post it anyway. It’s too good not to share IMMEDIATELY. These adorable bird ‘ portraits’ were painted by a new student. I’ve told her that they’re WAY too good to use as drinks coasters ! Analise did some folk art 20 years ago, but this is her first leap into ‘ realism’ acrylic painting. She started off with a KOTARE ( kingfisher) in class, then taught herself how to paint the rest of the birds in ONE WEEKEND. Gasp !

Taranaki Arts Festival have kindly given us a double pass to the Winter Fest show She Moves, a collaboration between four Taranaki dance groups. Val Deakin Dance Theatre, Academy of Dance Taranaki, Tansi Productions and Taranaki Diocesan Kapa Haka Roopu unite for She Moves, an evocative performance exploring the evolving place of women in society.

One show only, on Sunday 28 June at 3pm at the Theatre Royal, TSB Showplace.
