Got plans for the SCHOOL HOLIDAYS? The Bench has 3 jewellery workshops for 9-15 year-olds coming up in the first week of the break.

Stacker Rings - make up to 3 silver, copper, or brass rings - Tuesday 7th from 10-2.30 💍💍💍
Bangle Making - make 1-2 textured brass or copper bangles - Wednesday 8th from 10-2.30 🔨🔨🔨
Charm Pendants - design and make a silver, brass, or copper pendant on a chain or beaded necklace - Thursday 9th from 10-2.30 💎💎💎

All materials are supplied. Just bring along some lunch and join these super fun workshops taught in a safe and welcoming space with jeweller Kay van Dyk.

Nelson Clay Week 2024 - Bok Choy necklace, ceramic, silver, thread.

This amazing ceramic necklace was gifted to me at the Findings workshop I ran as part of this wonderful festival held in Whakatū biannually.

I'm running this same workshop again this year. Bring your fired pieces to be made into wearable (or wall hung) jewellery. Together, using a range of jewellery techniques, we find clever ways to link, hang, hold the elements you bring along.

Whakatū jeweller Kay van Dyk from The Bench School for Jewellery is running a Findings workshop during Clay Week this October.

Set a small tile, create catches and hanging mechanisms for necklaces ... Kay will respond to what you bring and support you to make it!
