Not often do I get the time to weave something for myself but this beautiful piece is going on my own wall! Framed in purple as a tribute to my beautiful Māmā in law, she may be gone from sight but the lessons she taught me are at the core of who I am. The triangles at the bottom are a reminder to stay grounded in who I am and remember all of my people that are there to support me, the Kaokao on the side, signifies the love and support I have around me while our whānau travels through some hard times and the roimata tears at the centre are a reminder that through tears and tough times there is also beauty and light and it’s important to allow ourselves to feel all those things!

I love this piece, my painter has done a beautiful job, my woodworker knows exactly what I want and my tūpuna guided me through the weave.

Can’t wait to hang it
