Yayyyy it's finished and ready to hit the mean streets of Whangaparaoa. The King Salmon Sweater was a challenge, but so cool to complete. I have a feeling this will be a wardrobe staple for a long time.

A wee gift of love flew across the ocean to warm the toes of our favorite Fairy Godmother, Cathy (aka Lumps). Super warm alpaca, as its getting a little chilly.

Dipping my toe into Sashiko, a Japanese method of embroidery. Sashiko means little stabs and my fingers can agree. Im sure this would look terrible to an expert, but you have to start somewhere, and I love the journey of learning new skills.

I plan to experiment more on these jeans. I will probably look like an embroidered picture once I'm finished, but it's all part of the fun.

This morning's project is to bring a favorite pair of jeans back to life using the visible mending method. I love the clash of orange cotton and green floral. I am secretly pleased I ran out of blue cotton.

Thanks to Jamie for the loan of her Brother NZ sewing machine while she's off on her adventures. And Tam for her scrap denim, I'm using that to reinforce the back of the jeans. And Keryn O'Neill for her advice on webbing. More on the jeans to follow... 😜

Cor blimey it was all happening this morning. I was just showing the new baby cow hat the beautiful sunrise, when a bloody great helicopter flew past. You may note this on the video as the item that looks like a big bee. *Must learn to focus. So the lucky pilot got to see the sunrise, a baby cow hat, and a disheveled older lady person in her pj's. Lucky pilot!

No more misplaced glasses for Sue Mcgoo. These pretty vine glasses chords will be worn with pride. Sue works for Love Soup so I matched some of the flowers to their colours. I'm all about a lady in uniform 😍.
