Big thanks to the hardy grandparents and grandkids, the whānau from Ōtaki, the dog walkers, walking group, e-bikers and local Raumati folks for joining us yesterday at Raumati Beach for our final Beach Art Kāpiti presentation for 2024! Big thanks also to artists Ilana Singleton and Anja Wilhelmer as we celebrated Word Art Day through rain showers, rainbows, dark clouds and finally, sunshine.

We've got a lot more digital content to post as we wrap up this year's event and some exciting announcements too but for now, we'd like to give a final shout out to star of the day, Pip, mans best friend in spades (pun intended) and superb judge of a perfect drawing stick doubling for a game of catch.

World Art Day, and Beach Art Kapiti Community Art Day at Raumati Beach. Today we had it all - rain, sun, clouds, rainbows, and around 40 people exploring beach art on day one of the school holidays.

Join us as we celebrate World Art Day 2024 tomorrow from 9:30am, Monday 15 April, at Raumati Beach by Raumati Village.

The global theme is 'A Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community Through Art' which is exactly what Beach Art Kāpiti does, thanks to the creative storytelling and technical skills of all our artists.

Whether you bring the kids for some school holiday fun, or just want to watch artists Anja Wilhelmer, Ilana Singleton, and Val Roberts, all are welcome!

To celebrate the end of Beach Art Kāpiti for this year, and participate in World Art Day and enjoy the first day of the school holidays, we thought we would have one more Community Art Day!

Bring the kids or the grandparents! Beach art is fun at any age. Raid the garden shed or find your own special stick at the beach. Bring your imagination, collect seashells, watch, draw, play, meet others and see artists Anja Wilhelmer and Ilana Singleton reveal their final designs Maybe pop in to Raumati Village for a gelato ice cream or lunch after 😊
