Our second week our students tackled one of the trickier skills in drawing and getting perspective to actually work.

From detailed stonework (lesson for our more experienced students) and streetscapes to bare winter trees (our new/foundation students) and bold structural sketches, the work coming off these tables was seriously impressive. A great mix of new faces giving it a go for the first time alongside returning students who already know the ropes. That energy in the room is wonderful to feel.

There’s something about watching someone draw a scene they weren’t sure they could draw and then hold it up and realise they absolutely can that never gets old.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, term is well underway but new classes are open for September. Come and make something you didn’t think you could make.

What a fantastic evening at the Yorb Hawke’s Bay Business Awards Launch last night, hosted by Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce at the beautiful Iona College.
