I have a new gallery showing my work!

McAtamney Gallery and Design Store in Geraldine is a gorgeous space full of beautiful artwork and giftware. Carolyn has already sold a couple of my works, so I delivered a few more to her the other day. Pop over to the McAtamney page to see which ones she has.

On the day I popped in she had these gorgeous Proteas for sale on a wee bench outside. Of course I totally fell in love, so Carolyn very kindly donated this beautiful bunch for me to paint. And here they are.

It’s getting to that time of year when the gardens are all starting to bloom with colour and that gorgeous daffodil fragrance fills the air. Daffodils always lead that charge, so here is my floral offering.

Need something to do on such a rainy day? Go and check out the Ashburton Society of Arts 62nd Annual Show at Ashburton Art Gallery. Great activity for the kids in school holidays. Apart from the fact that you might recognise one of my pieces in there, the Ashburton Art Gallery is an absolute treasure.

I loaded up my car yesterday. Easel, paints, boards. The sun was out. The light was great. I planned to find a spot to paint plein air.

Got out of the car at a gorgeous place.

Just about got blown off my feet!

So I took a bunch of photos, came back to the house, unloaded everything and set up my easel inside.

And here is the result – finished today.

I’m house and pet sitting for my brother and sister-in-law in Glenorchy this week. So of course I had to bring my painting gear!
This is the view from the hill behind their house where I took Busky the dog for a walk. What a stunning part of the country!!

I’ll think of a name for the painting when I find out what this mountain range is called. 🤔🫣

“Humboldts”
