I loaded up my car yesterday. Easel, paints, boards. The sun was out. The light was great. I planned to find a spot to paint plein air.

Got out of the car at a gorgeous place.

Just about got blown off my feet!

So I took a bunch of photos, came back to the house, unloaded everything and set up my easel inside.

And here is the result – finished today.

I’m house and pet sitting for my brother and sister-in-law in Glenorchy this week. So of course I had to bring my painting gear!
This is the view from the hill behind their house where I took Busky the dog for a walk. What a stunning part of the country!!

I’ll think of a name for the painting when I find out what this mountain range is called. 🤔🫣

On a recent visit to Glenorchy my brother took us on a wee tootle in his old Landy, out to Paradise. I loved it so very much that I’m going back to visit next month, with all my painting gear! I spent last week prepping boards, and couldn’t resist using one board today for this gorgeous scene.

🔴 SOLD!

This little beauty has been on display in Dunedin at ’s Hope and Sons Art Awards. And I’ve just had an email to say it has SOLD!

I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to be cool about that and take it in my stride, but I’m not afraid to admit that I jumped for joy! 🤣

There are just a couple more days left to check out the exhibition before it closes, so if you’re in Dunedin, do pop along and have a look.
