IMPORTANT PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE
Te Kiwa Nui has been advised by the National Public HealthService that a person who attended the festival on Friday 7 August has since been diagnosed with meningococcal disease.
We want to reassure our Te Kiwa Nui whānau that the public health team has assessed the risk to students, staff and others who attended as low, and no close contacts have been identified.
We are sharing the official letter from the Medical Officer of Health below so that our community has the correct information and knows what symptoms to be aware of.
Please take the time to read the notice carefully. If you have any health concerns, follow the advice and contact details provided in the letter. If you or your child are feeling unwell or develop any concerning symptoms, please contact your family doctor or health provider as soon as
possible.
If symptoms are consistent with meningococcal disease, seek medical attention urgently, as the illness can progress rapidly. We also ask everyone to please respect the privacy of the individual and their whānau.
