Running All Things EFFY in Aug 2022!

Back then I didnt have any regional shops. It was just me, a garage, a lot of stock, workshops, and markets!

Aug 2026: EFFY has 3 regional shops in the USA, Canada ans Australia. Now much of my time is behind a computer making sure you are all happy with your orders, ensuring restocks are happening quickly enough, that shipping is running smoothly, and of course ☠️ taxes & sales tax across 4 countries is being submitted. Knowing how 4 countries work makes my head spin at times.

I love the wild ride both my persistence and your continued support has allowed me. I will continue to show for the tufting community with quality diverse supplies as long as humanly possible 💜

I’ve been using the EFFY cotton blend yarn in shades Dark Pink and Burgundy from All Things EFFY!

Carolyn, who runs EFFY has been an absolute saint in helping me organise this huge bulk order of yarn, from colour picking to calculating how much yarn I’ll need and then extremely fast shipping- thank you Carolyn!!

✨ Have you ever considered what else you can make with EFFY Rug Yarn? 🧶

I'm about three-quarters of the way through making this gorgeous textured rug by designer . I purchased the pattern on Etsy and have been following it using EFFY 100% Rug Wool—and I'm absolutely loving how it's turning out! 😍

For anyone wondering, I'm using a 4 mm crochet hook, although in hindsight I think a 4.5 mm or even a 5 mm hook would have been a better choice. It would have given the stitches a little more room and made the finished piece slightly easier to block.

Sadly, our Rug Wool isn't something we're stocking at the moment, although we're hopeful we'll be able to bring it back one day. ❤️ The good news is that our Acrylic Rug Yarn comes in the exact same colours and has a very similar structure and feel, so it would be a fantastic substitute if you'd like to make one yourself.

For this project, I'm using four colours:
💛 Lemon
🌼 Yellow
✨ Stitchbird Yellow
🟡 Mustard

We actually still have some of these Rug Wool colours left because they're some of our less popular shades, so if you'd prefer the wool version, you might still be able to snag a few cones before they're gone. Otherwise, you'll find these exact colours in our Acrylic Rug Yarn range too!

Now I need a little advice...

This piece is 100% wool, so it should be able to be blocked, but it's HUGE! 😅 Has anyone here blocked something this large before? What did you use to pin it out? A standard blocking board definitely isn't going to cut it!

I've only been crocheting for about a year, so I'm still learning, and I'd really appreciate any tips or tricks you have. ❤️

Okay but… can we take a second to appreciate the NEW purple AK-Vs !! ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who gave their input over the last couple of months while we worked on choosing colours that not only felt truly EFFY, but that our customers would genuinely love too.

We used two giveaways to help guide the process and see which colours people connected with the most, and honestly, getting everybody’s feedback made the whole thing so much fun 🩷

And now… if you order an AK-V factory direct, you’ll receive our new branded purple AK-V 💜✨

All new AK-V stock arriving to our shops in late May / early June will also now be in the new purple colourway, and I genuinely could not be more excited about it because it feels SO perfectly EFFY.
