Jill’s funeral will be held Saturday 31 Jan (tomorrow) 2pm at the Canterbury Chapel, cnr Linwood Ave and Keighleys Road.

The Canterbury Memorial Gardens Chapel Host funeral services, memorial gatherings, and cremations in the elegant art deco chapel next to the memorial gardens. We offer audio visual for photo presentations and music, web streaming for those who can't attend in person, and a comfortable foyer area ....

Very sad to hear of the passing of Jill Fenton. Jill was a founding member of the Garden City Big Band in 1992 and played with us for 30 years.
It's hard to find a photo of Jill without a trombone slide or Lana's arm doing the cut offs in front of her face. She was the matriarch of the band. We know she will be very happy to join her beloved Stu!

Join us for the final day of the Christchurch Big Band Festival.

Unfortunately the weather forecast isn’t looking good later on for picnicking, so we’ve reluctantly made the call to go for a cozy indoor day with our friends at A Rolling Stone and The Church Pub.

The schedule for the bands is the same but those on Stage 1 will be at A Rolling Stone, and Stage 2 are going to The Church Pub.

We'll be swinging all day instead, for an indoor Christchurch Big Band Festival Picnic from 10am!

We are thoroughly enjoying our gig at A Rolling Stone on the 3rd Sunday of every month. We'd love to see more people there enjoying Gretchen and Mike's hospitality. The food is great (try and keep Jody away from the chicken wings) and the Guiness is on tap! It's a family atmosphere and great place to spend a cold Christchurch Sunday arvo. Check out Lester Leaps in from last Sunday!
