The soap dishes had genuinely fallen off my radar until this landed in my inbox.

Mine are raised at the back with a little spout, so the water drains straight back into the basin instead of leaving the soap sitting in it.

So yes, they’re back on the making list. The first batch came out of the kiln today.

Coming to ĹŚtautahi Made at Te Pae on 27 September, and online soon.

Absolutely f* knackered.

The kiln’s on, there’s clay everywhere, I’ve got a b**r in my hand and my brain has officially left the building.

Very productive. Would not recommend trying to have an intelligent conversation with me now.

Gave these their first proper dinner test last night. Salmon on one, veges on another, then everything into the middle of the table for everyone to build their own poke bowls.

Exactly the sort of meal I had in mind when I started making them. (Well, that and cheese & crackers with friends and a couple of glasses of w**e.)

I think I’m onto something with these.

This is the liner glaze, it goes inside each flower orb before I add the colour glaze to the outside.

A little bit of the making process you’d possibly never really know was there once they’re finished.

These orbs are tucked in the kiln now...24hours later I can reveal.

I made this bowl just for fun, with absolutely no plan to turn it into a "thing".

But now I’m looking at it thinking… maybe?

Would you like to see more bowls like this, or should this stay a one-off? Be brutally honest thanks 🙏
