About 10 years ago I played drums in a band (as you do) called Kentucky Fried Children - a mix of Swampy Blues and Rock where I got to hit HARD and play some really fun shows. We’re all back in town for summer this year, and it turns out the temptation of playing a reunion show for old time’s sake was too hard to resist!

On 6th December we’ll be playing a one off show “The Return of the Colonel” at Darkroom, alongside our old friends Saint Peter's Thursday and new friends Goodbye Starlet - Come along and revel in the glory of nostalgia and Rock n Roll with us!

One thing I really love about making vinyl records is the hype sticker! They bring great joy to my inner-nerd as a perfect combination of aesthetic and utility, being able to tell potential customers more about a great record they might want to take a chance on, and keeping the artwork itself clear of those pesky barcodes.

We’ve got a fresh batch of stickers on the final 30(!!) copies of Kind Hands - get ‘em while you can! Check a couple other recent hype stickers here too.

Out today! Mini Miller (Drew) releases latest EP “Love Me Like Me”. Mini Miller was our very first Winegum label artist, so it’s very exciting to release these songs into the world!

Love Me Like Me looks back at her time in high school, reflecting on “who I was at 17—what I believed in, what I was feeling, and what I was navigating emotionally, politically, and creatively. It’s deeply personal and honest, capturing the energy and mindset of a younger me just trying to make sense of it all.”

Made alongside via some Development funding - thanks for the mahi and the support!

Love Me Like Me is out now on all digital platforms via Winegum Records.

Humbled to be involved in this project with Forest & Bird - Mousey's “Die on that Hill” is the soundtrack to this stunning and heartbreaking series of videos which shows how much there is at stake when it comes to fighting for our environment for which our country is so widely recognised.

“The Denniston Plateau – an ancient high-altitude ecosystem on the West Coast – is under threat from a massive 25-year coal mine. This isn't just a patch of scrub. It's conservation land, home to rare snails, alpine forests, and regionally distinct kiwi. And once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Worse, the Government is using a new ‘fast-track’ law to push this mine through without public consultation or environmental safeguards.

Forest & Bird is fighting to stop this mine – and protect the Denniston Plateau forever. We’re calling for this unique landscape to be reclassified as a scientific reserve and safeguarded from future mining. But we can’t do it alone.”

Announcing the first album of 2025! Velveteen’s debut full-length album ‘Heavy Machinery’.

Heavy Machinery is jam packed with fuzzy Corgan-esque guitars, heavy drums and emotional vocal melodies and lyrics. Channeling the energy of 90s alt-rock, infused with a dark, post-punk edge, Heavy Machinery delves into a rollercoaster of emotions, with frontman Jai’s heartfelt lyrics and burning vocals exploring his feelings during a time of heartbreak and the deterioration of some close relationships.

Heavy Machinery is out March 28th via Winegum Records. The album is available for pre-order on CD via Bandcamp now.

Let’s be real… Spotify kinda sucks. BUT it’s also super special to be able to look back on the year and celebrate the good times and the wins. It’s definitely been a hectic year, but a great year. So in that spirit, here’s the ‘Winegum Wrapped’ for 2024, and thanks so much to everybody who was part of these projects - but ESPECIALLY to the artists who trust me with their art. A million thank yous, and Meri Kirihimete to all 🎄
