I have been having some great conversations with classical singers and industry professionals over the last few weeks.

A chat with Denise Roche reminded me that what we do is WORK!

We have spent years practising and refining our craft, and spent a fortune on tuition and training.

It is not a hobby or something we do on the side while we do "our real jobs."

Being a performer is a real job!

Which means we need to know our rights, responsibilities, and our individual and collective worth.

If you want your voice heard and to get involved, flick me a DM.

Today’s your reminder:
You can do that scary thing!

I’m not naturally a social media person.
Honestly? It kinda scares me. Putting my thoughts, ideas, and opinions out there for everyone to see (and judge) feels incredibly vulnerable 😬

But here’s the irony…
I’m a classical singer.
That’s literally what my job requires of me!

I have allowed myself to be vulnerable hundreds of times. Not only do I stand up on a stage and perform, I do this with an instrument that is entirely made up of me.

An instrument I’ve spent years shaping, refining, strengthening. One that changes with what I eat, how I sleep, my hormones, the weather, my emotional state… everything.

And I still walk on stage.

So if I can do that surely that means this social media stuff will be a piece of cake.

Right?

While it is terrifying, growth won’t happen in my comfort zone. If I want to make a difference in my community, I have to be willing to feel uncomfortable.

There definitely is going to be a learning curve so please bear with me. Your support, encouragement and compassion mean everything to me 🥰
