One day, eight paintings 🎨

Trying out some new directions on cheap canvas with no rules or expectations for what a finished piece should look like.

And I'm pretty happy with what did turn out anyway! It was a lot of fun, I could easily do another day like this.

I kept this one very quiet over the last few weeks so that I could surprise my friend with this portrait after her horse suddenly and tragically passed away recently.

This mare was a sweet, dedicated matriarch, who always kept an eye out on my horses when they were grazing together. It was an absolute honour getting to have both her and her owner as a part of my life for the past few years, and I know she’ll be very sorely missed by all of us who knew her.

I've been working away on a bigger piece that I can't share just yet, so here's a quick sketchbook study to break up the silence on this account 😅

I've got a different pose of this same boy lined up to become a finished painting, then after him I'm not sure who'll be next in line 🤔 There are two other spots available for paintings to be started this week, so if you've got a pet in mind, I'd love to see them 😉

Boy this one is hard to photograph! She’s absolutely lovely in person, with huge dramatic shifts in colour and value. Time now for her to join the bedroom gallery 😍

I’ve been painting on unstretched canvas as a space saving measure, which means now I get to figure out how I want to mount and frame these. Every step of the creative process is so exciting!

A little peek inside the studio (ie. inside the corner of my bedroom) .. yes I did have to move my dirty laundry 🤭 Some new pieces in the works, some hanging out waiting for the finished stamp of approval, and one poster that is a couple of years old now but completely one of a kind - I drew it digitally myself and only ever got one copy printed at the warehouse stationery 😅

This week I swapped over to painting on unstretched canvas, as you can see space is already starting to become a concern, and if I'm planning on becoming as prolific as I want to be pretty soon I could be drowning in artwork 😆
