DR. SARAH COURT
Born in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, Sarah holds music degrees from the University of Otago and the University of Waikato. She continued her musical education at the Prague conservatoire under the tutelage of Antonie Denygrova. Sarah also graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium (Griffith University) with a Doctor of Musical Arts under the supervision of Lisa Gasteen. Sarah was an Emerging Artist with New Zealand Opera, a Dame Sister Mary Leo Foundation scholar, a finalist in the New Zealand Aria, and a semi-finalist in the Lexus Song Quest. In recent years Sarah was part of the team at New Zealand Opera as they introduced The Lullaby Project from Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute to mothers and babies in Aotearoa New Zealand. She joined the NZSO and SOUNZ at the NZ Composer sessions to record Michael Vinten's "Six Korean Love Poems", as well as performing with the NZSO for their 2020 performance of Messiah. Sarah is regularly called on as an adjudicator, and loves the opportunity to connect with and give back to emerging performers.
