The weather is clearing up, with perfect timing for Jazz Auckland’s final show at the this afternoon, as part of the Zoo Lates series…and we are going out with a bang‼️

We are proud to present Auckland’s own Carnivorous Plant Society live and direct from the band rotunda with a very special treat in store too…we’ve managed to get Mr Thing (currently on tour from the UK) on warm up duty for the show. Music kicks off with Mr Thing from 5pm.

Bring your picnic blankets, kick back and enjoy some premo music in the beautiful surroundings of the Zoo.

Jazz Auckland are proud to present The Henrique Morales Quartet this Saturday 31st of January as part of the ‘Zoo Late’ series, brought to you by Auckland Zoo and Visit Auckland. Come check out Brazilian and Latin flavours whilst being in the beautiful setting of the Zoo Rotunda. Jazz Auckland’s Dj Hudge will be keeping in with the Brazilian vibes in support on the decks. Music from 5pm to 7.30pm.

Originally from southern Brazil, Henrique Morales has been living in New Zealand since 2007. He has performed at numerous venues across Auckland as well as at festivals throughout the country.
A former member of the Kiwi band Batucada Sound Machine, he recorded on their second album Don’t Keep Silent (2011). Between 2008 and 2012, he toured extensively with the group across countries including Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Serbia, Belgium, England, Wales, Austria, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia.
In 2021, Henrique released his first solo album in New Zealand, Alô Brasil, which until then had only been available in Brazil.
Last year, he spent five months touring in Europe, mainly in Portugal and France, promoting his album and also performing as a supporting musician for established artists such as Carla Visi and General D.
Back in New Zealand, Henrique is a current member of the Latin supergroup Santiago Soul Stars, a seven‑piece Afro‑Caribbean Latin band.

Unfortunately the tough call has been made to cancel (hopefully postpone) and his band this afternoon at the ‘Zoo Lates. We’ll keep you posted about possible dates when we can have them play again and hopefully the weather will be better next weekend for on the 31st.

This Saturday Jazz Auckland take to the Rotunda at Auckland Zoo again for the 2nd of 4 shows as part of the ‘Zoo Late’ series.

This week Michal Martyniuk and his crew of talented musicians take to the bandstand, playing from 5pm to 7.30 with DJ Hudge in support.

Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy some Jazz in the Zoo!

Joining Michal on stage are his good friends and renowned Auckland musicians: Ron Samson on drums and Ben Turua on bass.

Respects to everyone who made it to Somethin’ Else at Aotea Sq yesterday as part of ‘Summer in the Square’ series. Summer decided to leave us temporarily yesterday but all who came were treated to some of the best live music Aotearoa has to offer. Nothing short of incredible - Today we do it all again. Live music from .haines’s Soft Chaos and Electric Trio with a dj set from to bring it on home. On the dj stage we have , , and so there will be vibes for days! Doors open at 12 and remember, it’s free! Shout out to everyone who played yesterday. Minds blown left right and centre.

Our inner city festival style celebration in Aucklands iconic Aotea Square…as part of Auckland Live’s ‘Summer in the Square’ series. No ticket required and family friendly. This is a chance to see some of Aotearoa’s finest, world class musicians and DJs for free. Plus food trucks, licensed bars and more. Prepare to get down to the sounds of Somethin’ Else.
