Just as we yearn for reconnection with our tuupuna, our tuupuna too yearn for our return. They call for our return. Tuuii (Ngaati Whaawhaakia, Ngaati Koura, Ngaati Wairere, Ngaati Kahungungu, Te Roroa, Ngaati Kuri, Scotland) is led by that call to return home - to ourselves, to eachother, and to our place as te pōtiki oo te ao. As an expression of whakawhanaungatanga with te taiao, Tuuii creates custom made whakakai using taonga te taiao offers such as harakeke, raakau maaori, and manu huru, so we may adorn ourselves with reminders of our whakapapa upon this journey home.
