Akaroa Open Mic tonight Wednesday 17th June at The Common - Cafe & Garden Bar - Akaroa features poet Ciaran Fox. Doors open 6.30pm, Open Mic from 7.30pm.

Ciaran is one of the founders of poetry journal and open mic night 'Catalyst', he is familiar as the regular host of Catalyst poetry nights and the MC of the Ōtautahi Poetry Slam as well as other events. His first collection of poetry, They Crackle in the Rain was published in 2023 and was runner-up in the John O’Connor First Book of Poetry award.

Akaroa Open Mic tomorrow Wednesday 17th June at The Common - Cafe & Garden Bar - Akaroa features Antony Pickard, a Christchurch based fulltime musician with over twenty years experience touring Aotearoa and South East Asia.

A graduate of the Christchurch Jazz School, Ants has phenomenal voice and guitar skills, and will play a selection of his original music. Ants currently preforms solo and as the lead singer with corporate rock band 'Headrush', previously he was the lead singer of Auckland based "KICK" and Wellington bands 'SLAM' and tribute show 'Get Back with the Beatles'.

Ant's unique voice has been behind popular TV commercials for brands including The All Blacks, Steinlager, the Hurricanes, McDonald’s, and plenty more.
