🎭📚 Storytelling Workshop for Teachers – From Page to Stage

How can a simple storybook become an engaging classroom experience? How can teachers move beyond reading a story and invite children to actively imagine, participate, and connect with it?

These questions formed the foundation of the full day storytelling workshop for teachers conducted by Bansri Pandey from The Joy House Collective at Kinderjoy Montessori School for around 20 teachers from pre-primary and primary grades.Thank you Rita Acharya and Kinderjoy Montessori School for inviting us.

The workshop introduced practical drama-based storytelling tools that teachers can use in their everyday classrooms to make stories more interactive, memorable, and meaningful for young learners.

A kite gets stuck in a tree… but that is only the beginning 🌳✨

Children at Young Explorers Academy joined the wildly funny and interactive world of Stuck based on the book by Oliver Jeffers and adapted by Bansri Pandey.

With rhythms, participation, surprising props, and lots of laughter, the children became active problem-solvers inside the story. The session ended with a creative art activity where they designed their own “stuck trees” filled with imaginative objects and ideas.

What happens when a kite gets stuck in a tree… and every solution makes the problem even bigger? 🌳🎈

Young children aged 4–5 at Shikhar School entered the wonderfully chaotic world of the book "Stuck by Oliver Jeffers" and performed by Bansri Pandey.

Filled with surprises, rhythms, interactive storytelling, and playful participation, the session invited children and parents to laugh, imagine, and problem-solve together. After the performance, children created their own “stuck trees” through an open-ended art activity using their imagination and creativity.

Drama Workshop for Kids age 6-10
Over 10 days, students of Class 1–4 at Shristi Academy explored storytelling, movement, voice, teamwork, and performance through the play "Sky is Falling" written and facilitated by Bansri Pandey.

The workshop gradually introduced children to acting through theatre games, character-building activities, rehearsals, and collaborative scene work. What began as playful exploration slowly transformed into a 20-minute student performance created together with confidence, creativity, and imagination.

Children learnt to express through body and voice, work as a team, and bring characters alive on stage through their own energy and interpretation.
