“Only by carefully probing the things we see can the contours of the invisible space they inhabit be brought out clearly. To study a space as a thing in itself, we have to learn how to look at Nature out of the corner of our mental eye.” (From "Patterns in the Void" by Sten F. Odenwald)
"Examination of Invisible Spaces” (EIS) is a series of multi-disciplinary events intended to create a frame for examining the world with this approach. None of the causes controlling our world are visible under any conditions; we can see a fragment of the what of things, but nothing at all of the why. EIS aims to reflect and challenge our tendency to neglect what we can’t see and measure. In doing this we speculate that the invisible forces of our world are as important and equal to those we can touch and interact with. How can we approach those invisible fields, which seem to be what is keeping the world together? Gravity, microbes, cells, the mystery of quantum mechanics, air, the internet, feelings, the subconscious, etc.
