Open Out Festival 2025 is over!🌦️ And so, we want to thank all the artists, volunteers, staff and visitors who came together and made it a magical week.☀️ This years theme, Chosen Families, still echoed in the corridors of Kunstforeninga when the festival was rigging down. Thanks to for the poster🍉, , .ewa and for the pictures🍉 and who runs our social media🍉
We also want to give an extra shoutout to the great collaboraters who joined forces with us in 2025: and ❤️, .iskra.production💚, and 🖤, and with 🤍And to who let us use everything we need, including their space and people, and who keeps letting us back year after year.❤️💚🖤🤍 We hope to see all of you again in September 2026! Thank you for being part of this year’s festival 💖 We’re so grateful to have shared this time with you once again 💗

On the final day of Open Out 🥲 we wrapped things up with a last ring-making session, another inspiring guided tour and a drum journey. The night ended in pure joy of dancing 🪩

Tomorrow will be the last chance to join the ring-making workshop, to see the festival exhibition and to hang out with us in the open out bubble, because sadly, even good things come to an end.
On a positive note, there will be an additional drum journey tomorrow at 13:00 and from 20:00 we and will keep us dancing all night long because that’s the last chance to dance with us, at least at this Open Out 🥲

Yesterday, we had a productive afternoon reflecting on conflict situations and strategies, and learning about harm reduction with and . Lots of good ideas & tips!
Afterwards, Heila took us on a drum journey, which we don’t have any photos of, but you can imagine us lying in the dark room, listening to the vibrations of the drum and Heila’s voice. We’ve gone deep!
The day ended with the first part of the workshop How to Subculture with walking us through different theories and ways to relate to subculture as a phenomenon. Join us for the second part tomorrow at 16:00 where we will create our own subculture from scratch!

On Tuesday, we will dive into the principles of creating safer q***r spaces in a community workshop on harm reduction, conflict, and care. This session is brought to you by as part of the Open Out Festival and hosted by , the initiative for safer nightlife. In this workshop, you’ll gain fresh tools and frameworks to support community safety, gender inclusion, and collective repair within your networks.

Following this, we’ll continue with the second part of Q***r Sámi Symbols, where Heila, a Sámi artist and noaidi, will guide us on a drum journey.

Later in the afternoon, Grusha Pankert will lead the workshop How to Subculture, where we will explore resistance, taste, and style, and connect these themes to this year’s theme of chosen families.
