På søndag får vi besøk av Johanne Nyborg, og det gleder vi oss skikkelig til!

Forfatter og fotograf Johanne Nyborg kommer til Mikromakeriet for å dele boken sin «12 dagar i april» og fortelle om arbeidet med boka og hvordan det er å stå bak både tekst og bilder.

Det blir utstilling med Johannes fotografier, samtale og pop-up kafé med Borgund Vedovnsbakeri (borgundvedovnsbakeri).

Velkommen til bokbad, utstilling, kafé og kunstnersamtale på Luster Mikromakeri!

Den 27. september inviterer vi til en søndag med påfyll for hode og hjerte. Forfatter og fotograf Johanne Nyborg kommer til oss for å dele om boken sin ”12 dagar i april”. Det blir utstilling med Johannes bilder, kafé og samtale om boka med forfatteren.

”Hver vår drar odelsjenta Johanne Nyborg fra Oslo til familiegården på Vestlandet for å hjelpe moren sin i lammingen. I boken Tolv dager i april tar hun leseren med inn i fjøset, der hun gjennom tekst og bilder skildrer den vakre og brutale lammingsperioden.
Johanne utforsker også forholdet til moren sin, til gården hun vokste opp på, og den indre dragkampen mellom bygd og by. I dag lever hun det livet hun en gang ønsket seg, men under overflaten ligger uvissheten om hvor hun skal ende opp. Vil hun bli værende i byen, eller vil hun videreføre arven på gården?”

What a pleasure to welcome our great colleagues from Balestrand to Luster last June!

This time, they brought their Artist in Residence, Alexander Eldefors Alexander Eldefors to meet our Resident, Siri Pettersson Siri Pettersson , and our invited local artist, Sofie Klemetzen Sofie Klemetzen. A day of exchanges, sharing practices, ideas and processes - topped off with a forest walk here on Hærishovden. 🌲

Open Call — Artist in Residence #4 — EXTENDED DEADLINE

We are super happy to announce that the open call for our fourth artist in residence in collaboration with is live!
Join us for a residency at Luster Mikromakeri, 2–15 November 2026. Travel + accommodation + studio covered, as well as an artist fee! 💥

This residency is an opportunity to develop your practice, experiment with materials, and connect with the local environment and community.

We warmly welcome artists who are interested in a focused two weeks period of research, making, and exchange within textiles, woodworking or ceramics. Apply by September 15th. Find more information and apply through the link in our bio.

For our second round of Artist in Residence, we are delighted to welcome Siri Pettersson for the next two weeks.

Siri is a weaver and textile artist from Sweden currently studying an MFA at the Oslo national academy of arts. Her work moves between the strict systems and structures of weaving and the freedom of drawing. In the space that emerges in between, where the boundary between the thread and the drawn line dissolves, her work finds its way along layers, levels and rhythms.

We are thrilled to have her with us and look forward to two inspiring weeks here in Luster.

This residency is made possible through our collaboration with Kunstbygda Balestrand, who are simultaneously hosting Alexander Edlefors in Balestrand. Next week, we will gather in Luster for our next study day, giving Siri and Alexander the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, and share insights into their respective artistic processes.

Liselore Forwijn – what a pleasure it was to meet you, your work, your motivation, and your beautiful presence! Thank you for coming to Luster and for being part of making our very first Artist in Residence happen.

During her stay, Liselore explored the myth of the Huldra through process-based works using knitting, sewing, plant-based dyes, and local fibres such as wool and leftover fabrics. It was beautiful to see these materials and gestures connect with her narratives and the landscapes of Luster Mikormakeri.

We're sure our paths will cross again, and Luster will always welcome you with open arms. A special thank you to Creative Connections and Kreativ Sogn for the support. It’s all happening in Indre Sogn

6. juni! Luster Mikromakeri deltar på Brefestivalen i Jostedalen, der vi sammen med andre kunstnere, Sofie Klementzen, Arvid Elvekrok and Hanne Åmli fra Jostedal og Ornes stiller ut i en felles kunstutstilling.

Utstillingen og vernissasjen finner sted på Gamlehotellet, 15.00-17.30. Kanskje du til og med får litt livemusikk å bevege deg til!

Brefestivalen byr ellers på breforedrag, naturopplevelser, kunstutstillinger, samt aktiviteter som ungdomscamp, zipline, klatrefelt, rafting, isbad og festivalstemning. Brefestivalen i Jostedalen ble startet i 2007 og har siden vært en viktig møteplass for kultur, natur og opplevelser i regionen.

We went visiting our great colleagues in Balestrand. Always such a great adventure when we go here. Thank you Helle, Silje and Tuba, for your motivation, inspiration and imagination. And of course, all the support in making our Artist in Residence program possible! Kreativ Sogn, Kunstbygda Balestrand, Creative Connection - you rock!

This was truly a day filled with more fun, great planning, knowledge and art then we could possibly hope for, see you soon in Luster for our next Study Day 🙂

Luster Mikromakeri celebrated 2 years! Thank you all for the beautiful evening! Mellom oss performed their heartfelt and soft tunes, together with the pop-up fiddle star Eiliv! Liselore and Natalie finished off their 2 weeks residency, and we opened our new little exhibition space Mikrogalleriet.

Thanks to everyone that came and made the evening as lovely as it was! Thank you to all the yes-people in Luster, and Kreativ Sogn, Creative connections and Marksteinen/ Luster Ungsdomslag/ Ole Geir, Kjetil Hovland. Without you, non of this could happen!
