Mad Cow Comedy hosts an afternoon of stand-up comedy performed by various international acts, all performing in English. Utrecht-based comedian, Rachel Morton-Young, introduces a different mix of comedians every 2 weeks, so no two shows are ever the same. The show takes place in the Eventspace at de Utrechter City Brasserie and Bar, a warm and welcoming venue with a great vibe (only a few minutes’ walk from Utrecht Central Station).

Soula Notos is a Greek-Dutch performer and comedian based in Utrecht. Many audiences in the Netherlands and abroad have encountered this bubbly hugger. Her comedy is expressive, energetic and very interactive. She performed at the Utrecht International Comedy Festival, the International Luxembourg Comedy Festival and the Women in Comedy Festival in Manchester. She is a member of the collective het Comedyhuis. Next to comedy, she works as an actress, theater maker, writer and storytelling teacher.

Alex Mitchell is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer, actor and podcaster. He is a q***r, autistic, disabled comic who regularly performs at the biggest comedy clubs in the UK including The Stand, Glee, Up the Creek, Backyard and Komedia Brighton

Alex was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2024. All three of his Britain’s Got Talent performances have individually amassed tens of thousands of views online. Since then, he has appeared on Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Heart Radio Breakfast and Access All for BBC Sounds.

Alex has written and performed 3 critically acclaimed solo shows in the last 3 years. Including two which sold out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2024 and 2025. In spring 2025 he completed his debut UK Tour.

Adi Parmar's comedy often contrasts his childhood in North India to his current life as a q***r man in the Netherlands. With razor-sharp storytelling he tackles topics such as South Asian/Queer intersectional identity, q***r parenthood and life as a 20 something in the Netherlands and turns them into big laughs. His standup is often described as charming and hilariously heartwarming.

"I think I'm a woman..." - that's how Marlies Verschueren came out to her family and friends. When Marlies was a little boy, she was sometimes called "miss" because she was small and slender. At that time, she found it terrible, but more than 40 years later she finally admitted to herself that she had always felt like a woman. During her transition, she wrote a stand-up comedy act in which she tells her journey with a healthy dose of self-deprecating humor. What sets Marlies apart is her mysterious habit of carrying a piano with her wherever she goes. This unexpected twist only adds to her comedic charm and highlights her unconventional approach to comedy. Her unique brand of self-deprecating humor and clever one-liners have won over audiences all over Belgium and Holland.

MARINA ORSAG has been on the stand-up scene for twenty years - and for good reason. A person with incredible positive energy and a big heart who will bring joyfull laughter to audience creating a great atmosphere that will make the audience laugh out loud and sometimes even think deeper. Her shows stay with the audience long after they've watched them.

She has performed over 3,500 times across the region and Europe, and has won various awards, the most beloved of which are the First Audience Award at the Lent Festival 2014, the Top 10 Comedians of the World at the Jokenation competition 2015, and the title of European Hero of Humor in Amsterdam 2018.

Today Mad Cow hosted a fantastic masterclass with author of Finding Your Comic Genius, Adam Bloom. An intense 7 hours of picking Adam's brains, gaining valuable insights and discussing the nuts and bolts of comedy.
This is the 6th class Adam has done in Utrecht; more than anywhere else in the world. Thanks to everyone for bringing your curiosity and enthusiasm!

Meet Frank, a sweet-looking Dutch dad... with a dangerously sharp comedy edge.

Mad Cow Comedy Presents Silver Lining on Friday 22nd May in Utrecht.

Frank, a very Dutch dad, shares how he’s coping with everything that just keeps happening to him; from his love of ear-splitting minimal techno and tattoos to battling hormones (not his own!). Somehow, he always finds a silver lining. He looks nice and sweet… but watch out, because out of nowhere, he’ll strike mercilessly.

The show will be hosted by Mad Cow Comedy's Rachel Morton-Young and include a guest warm-up act.
