azz Festival, Delemont Jazz Days (Switzerland), 26th Vilnius Jazz Festival, Handelsbeurs Ghent Concert Hall, Leeds Film Festival, and Christopher Summer Festival. In 2017 they recorded a CD for the NAXOS record label – two trios of Karol Lipiński with Voytek Proniewicz. The record was nominated to International Classical Music Awards
(ICMA 2019). Adam and Jan run ART - SOS Foundation in Poland, where they contribute to the cultural life of the Suwalki region. They realized four editions of the Wigrosfera Festival at the Wigry National Park. www.wigrosfera.com
Adam graduated with honors from Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Jan, thanks to the Fulbright Scholarship has completed a Master's Degree at Manhattan School of Music in New York. Brothers share their lives between Brussels and Warsaw where they produce, compose and realize audio-video projects. POLISH
Roshko Brothers to muzyczne braterskie duo z głębokimi korzeniami w klasyce. Ich muzyka łączy tradycję z nowoczesnością, tworząc unikalne doświadczenie dźwiękowe. Wzrastając na Suwalszczyźnie, otoczeni dziką naturą i tajemniczą słowiańską melancholią, Roshko Brothers, czyli Jan i Adam Roszkowscy, przenoszą te inspiracje do swojej muzyki. Ich skrzypce i wiolonczela brzmią jak głosy przyszłości opowiadając historie i wywołując emocje. Bracia sięgają po nowe brzmienia, eksplorując elektronikę przestrzenną. Dodają do swoich kompozycji i występów elementy elektroniczne, tworząc dynamiczne połączenie tradycji z nowoczesnością. Duet pokazuje, że muzyka klasyczna nie musi być nudna dla słuchacza, wręcz przeciwnie - dzięki swoim interpretacjom i poszukiwaniom bracia Roszkowscy opowiadają historie, nawiązują do wybitnych kompozytorów, ale przede wszystkim pozwalają zatracić się w muzycznych pejzażach. Dzięki solidnemu wykształceniu - Jan studiował wiolonczelę na nowojorskim Manhattanie, Adam w Królewskim Konserwatorium w Brukseli - w swoich kompozycjach dbają o każdy szczegół, ale pozwalają sobie też na szaleństwa.
“Wcześniej kierowaliśmy się silnym pragnieniem karier solistycznych. Przeszliśmy całą tę drogę doskonalenia intonacji i techniki gry na skrzypcach i wiolonczeli, gamy, pasaże, Bach, Mozart, Wieniawski, Schumann, Szostakowicz. Wielokrotnie występowaliśmy jako soliści grając ten repertuar z polskimi orkiestrami. Dopiero po latach nauki w renomowanych szkołach zdecydowaliśmy, że ważniejsza jest dla nas ścieżka kompozycji, autorskiej muzyki, wolność w improwizacji, świat eksperymentu i namnażanie warstw muzycznych…” - mówi Adam Roszkowski. Utwory Roshko Brothers to formy komponowane, w których bracia poszukują swobodnej wypowiedzi na skrzypcach i wiolonczeli. Słychać w nich subtelny dialog pomiędzy elektroniką a czarem wiolonczeli. Eksperyment jest tutaj częścią języka muzycznego, który tworzą. Symfoniczne brzmienia budują bardziej filmową przestrzeń, czasem można w nich wysłyszeć klimat polodowcowych krajobrazów suwalszczyzny. Te filmowe miraże nie są obce zwłaszcza Janowi, który skomponował muzykę do filmu fabularnego “Defekt Serca” w reżyserii Bogdana Kozuli. He is a laureate of the 27th National Chamber Music Competition in Wroclaw (3rd prize), Warsaw Chamber Competition for Young Musician (1st prize) and the National Cello Competition in Elblag (laureate). Thanks to the Fulbright Scholarship, Jan has completed a Master's Degree in Music Performance at Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he also studied Jazz Piano and Composition. He has presented solo and chamber performances at the Steinway Hall (New York), Jay Heritage Center (USA), Kosciuszko Foundation (New York) East Poland House (Brussels), Hotel des Invalides (Paris) and on the festivals including : International Mozartiana (Gdansk, Poland), XIV International Chopin & Friends Festival (New York),Swietojanskie Swietowanie (Gdansk, Poland), EFG London Jazz Festival, Vilnius Jazz Festival and many others. Jan collaborates with such artists as Janusz Olejniczak, Tomasz Strahl, Voytek Proniewicz, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Steven Lutvak and Iwona Sobotka. In 2009, Jan Roszkowski appeared as soloist with the Camerata Dell' Arte Orchestra playing Haydn C- Major Concerto in his hometown, Suwalki, and in 2008 was toured in China as a member of Chopin Academia Orchestra. Together with his brother, violinist Adam Roszkowski, Jan co-founded a professional Violin-Cello Duo. In the 2017 season the brothers will give a premiere of the Sonata written for them by american composer David Noon. Jan has recorded many music programs and CD's released for Polish Radio, Polish TV, Radio BIS, DUX and Kayax. Adam Roszkowski made his debut on stage at the age of 6. In 2005 and 2006 he received a double scholarship from the Belgian government. In recent years he was a I soloist in Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra. During this time he performed as a soloist with Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra, Białystok Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata dell'arte Chamber Orchestra, Carloforte Festival Orchestra and played Wieniawski, Mozart, Saint-Saens violin concertos and great pieces of Ravel, Chausson, Williams and Halvorsen. He was invited to play a common recitals with the famous polish pianist, Janusz Olejniczak and ukrainian violinist Vadim Brodsky. In 2008 together with his brother, cellist Jan Roszkowski, Adam co-founded a professional Violin-Cello Duo. In June of 2011, the brothers launched 7-concert tour around Poland, including a performance at the 13th and 14th Festival of Baroque Music in Pasym and in May 2012, they appeared with a recital at the Polish Slavic Center (NYC). Their repertoire explores music form J.S.Bach to the contemporary composers. In 2013 David Noon, american composer dedicated his Sonata for Roszkowski brothers. He graduated from Frederic Chopin Warsaw University of Music and Royal Conservatory in Brussels, where he graduated with honors (grande distinction). He studied the violin in the of class widely famous prof. Adam Korniszewski and conducting with prof. Ronald Zollman. Adam has performed at various festivals like America Romantica versus Chopin in Opinogóra, Mazurian International Festiwal in Ostróda, Summer Philharmonic Aukso in Wigry, EFG London Jazz Festival, Vilnius Jazz Festival and many others. He was artistic director of Klasik Mjuzik Festiwal in Suwałki where he performed with Iwona Sobotka. At the moment, he collaborates with National Orchestra of Belgium (Brussels) in 1st violin section. Until now Adam has performed in Poland, Russia, Croatia, Belgium, Holland, France, Spain, United States, UK, Hungary, Lithuania and Italy.
