Join me on the 15th of August for another Sip&Paint H'ART Museum 🎨 This edition of Summer 'ART is all about music 👇

The inspiration for the painting session will be Wassily Kandinsky, one of the "fathers" of abstract art, who used music as inspiration for his paintings, translating sounds, rhythms and emotions into colours, shapes and lines 🎶

During the workshop (which will be in the courtyard of the museum🌳) we will enjoy the performance of a Choir: Studentenkoor Amsterdam (SKA) ✨️

The painting workshop will be from 🕛 12:00 to 15:00h and you can buy the tickets at the website of H'ART Museum
at "Activities" 🎫 link on ther bio and in my Highlight stories "Events"

Last month I received a very special invitation; to live paint at Tamara Callender-Natan 🌼, which is a great community of ambitious, talented women that gather for networking, led by TAMARA Callender

The idea was to make an improvised painting from start to finish during the event. No sketch, no plan. Just 2 sources of inspiration: the room itself (the energy, the women, the space...) and an artist that I chose: Hilma af Klint, which I admire.

I wanted every woman present to be part of the artwork, so I came up with an idea: To paint each of us as a small circle, filled with the colors and patterns of the dresses we were wearing. The circle is mostly associated with femenine energy, so are flowers. The type of flowers I draw on the left corner and the swirl are both inspired by Hilma's work.

The swirl surrounds one circle, which represents Tamara, and spreads through the painting, connecting the rest.

This was my first time doing an improvised / live painting and I was very happy with the result. It was a super fun challenge!

Thank you TAMARA Callender for trusting me with this experience and to everyone for becoming a part of the painting 🫶

👩🏻‍🎨 Join me on Tuesday the 6th of August for a creative evening at Will & Tate | The Hague | Citystay 🍻

The workshop will be inspired by the incredible art and story of female Swedish artist Hilma af Klint (1862-1944).

Once you arrive to Will & Tate City stay, we will start the session with a mini-lecture inside the cozy cinema room of the Hostel. During the presentation, I will immerse you in her artworks, historical context and the mysticism that shaped her life and creations.

🎨Afterwards, you will create your own piece inspired by her works and style. No experience? No problem! I will be there to guide and support you. All levels are welcome.
The painting session will take place at the workspace/lobby, and before you grab a brush, you can grab a drink from the bar!

All painting materials and aprons are provided.
First drink is included in the ticket price. After that, you can buy whatever drinks you wish at bar. The included drinks are: Peroni tap beer 25cl, wine, soft drinks (fanta, cola, etc) or coffee/tea 🍷

Bring a date, a friend, a loved one, or just yourself and good vibes!

Reintroducing myself 🙋🏻‍♀️❤️ for the new people around here, and for the ones that want to know a bit more about who is behind this account 🫶
I'm Sofi, or maybe you know me as Sespi, which is my nickname made from my full name: (S)ofia (Espi)ñeira!
I'm orginally from Uruguay 🇺🇾, I was raised in Spain 🇪🇸 and I have been living in NL for most of my 20's (crazy, I just turned 30 this year😱).

🎨What keeps me busy here is painting and hosting art workshops!
Already some years ago I discovered how much I love sharing my passion for art and art history with others, that's how I grew into what I do now. I am also a super social person 💃 with a very diverse background, so I find it very easy to connect with people and host events that feel welcoming, educating and fun ✨️

Art-wise, I am very versatile and I enjoy working with several mediums🖌
Besides realistic animal portraits, I love painting murals and decorating spaces. In the coming months I want to focus on that world a bit more! Anyways I am always open for artistic projects or painting commissions of any kind!
You can always reach out and see 🪄

This past year I have been travelling more than ever 🌎 (my 30's resolution). That's why I haven't been so present in the past months. I feel so full and inspired from all that I have seen!
I have more travel plans ahead, but I am also excited for being in NL and planning some new ideas and events to bring to you all!
I just came back from travelling around Indonesia 🇲🇨 If you slide, you can get a glimpse of my trip 📸
From the photos, you can already guess that animals are my favorite thing next to art 🐶🐱 (That's also how I got started with Sespi Art, painting pet portraits!)
Fun fact: I said I wouldn't pet any strays to avoid risks. Spoiler alert❗️ I couldn't help myself and I ended up needing the rabies vaccines because a puppy accidentally bit my finger when I gave him food😬🤦🏻‍♀️ oeps!

🐬The moment with the dolphins was one of the highlights of my trip🥹 like a Disney moment!

Anyways, I hope you know me a bit better now 🫶
I hope to see you in one of my events soon, or reach out to say hi 🙋🏻‍♀️ I appreciate you all ❤️

Lots of love,

Sespi

Memorial painting of W***y 🕊 This was a commission I made last Christmas. My client gave this to her parents as a gift to honour their beloved dog who passed away some month prior 🥹
It is always an emotional moment when someone receives a painting of a loved pet that passed away. I feel honoured to be given the chance to keep them alive in some sort of way❤️‍🩹
Thank you Emma for the trust🙏

🇦🇶 In February I had the incredible experience of visiting the Antarctic continent!
There are no words or videos that can do justice to the beauty and majesty of that place. It really felt like being on a different world 🥹 I felt sooo moved and inspired by nature and it's beauty. I lost track of how many times I cried while looking at the animals and the breathtaking landscapes. I had incredible wildlife sightings and moments I will never forget. I even got to celebrate mine and my partner's 30th birthday there 🎂

🗺 During the trip, I did some painting on a nautical chart that was auctioned onboard for a good cause.
The painting included some of the beautiful animals I got to see on the trip: Orca, Humpback Whale 🐋, Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins🐧, Leopard seal 🦭and Wandering Albatross (the bird with the biggest wingspan on the planet).
On the map I also traced the route and wrote the names of the locations we visited. 📍

🧊From the Antarctic, One of the things that caught my attention the most were the icebergs. They look like sculptures with crazy shapes and textures. My favorite one that I spotted was the one on the last slide, which to me, looked like a massive greek/roman sculpture, on a pedestal missing the arms (hope you see the vision).
I got so inspired and I would love to paint some icebergs soon as well!

Hope you enjoy some snippets of my trip 🤍📸
