Hi everyone!
The fourth and final Angler of the year is officially upon us.
This Angler, titled “Improvisation”, will be handed out during Albion’s Park Quiz & Pizza event!
This event will take place on the 22nd of July, starting at 15:00 in Huigpark in Leiden.

I'm suspecting you might've guessed it already: the new Angler is all about superstition! Pick it up at the Albion Halloween Lecture on the 30th of October (time 19:00, place Lipsius 005), where you will be able to hear more of Dr van Leeuwen as he speaks about "Gothic Cars", as well as PhD student Sandra Mills's lecture "On Death and Dolls" :)

Are you an (upcoming) student of English who likes to write? Would you like to gain experience in writing for a magazine? Then we are looking for you!

The Angler is looking for people for the following positions:

- Chair/General Editor (voorzitter/hoofd editor)
- Secretary (secretaris)
- Questor (penningmeester)
- Designer
- General member(s) (writers)

While filling one of the first four positions, you are more than welcome to write as well!

Freelancers Wanted!

After having released a festive 2nd issue over the winter, the Angler team is already gearing up for issue number 3!
This time, it is all about LGBTQ+ and inclusion.
We invite you to write a short story of around a 1000 words and send it to us, so that we can publish our favourite story in the upcoming issue! It would be nice if our theme is incorporated in some way, but we do accept short stories that do not have elements of LGBTQ+ and/or inclusion in them.

If you can come up with your own fake holiday and send us the name, traditions and customs of this holiday (how is it celebrated? will there be cake? who's invited? seriously, will there be cake?) in a private message via facebook or in a quick email to [email protected], it might be printed in the next issue, and there might even be a prize
involved!

You have until the fifth of November to wow us!

A good day for new beginnings... Today, all first years are introduced to University, their peers for the year and -for most- life as a student in general. In line with these changes, we've updated our logo! Get ready for the big reveal...

We'd like to introduce: the brand new Angler committee! We are all very excited to start the new academic year during which we'll publish our gorgeous Angler with some very exciting articles. While everyone was enjoying the beautiful weather we were already busy writing our articles, and dare we say: it all looks very promising :)

In the next few weeks we will be introducing our committee members and our writers so stay tuned!
