𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐨𝐥. 4 - TWILIGHT CONCERT

aka Nicola Ruffino is a multidisciplinary artist and performer. His practice roots in his background as an experimental researcher in the life sciences. His work stems from an urge to break the reductionist paradigm that dominates contemporary scientific research and common belief in post-modern anthropocentrism. Investigating the universal aspects of complex systems; those fundamental patterns that transcend scale and context, Oxar Zero invites audiences to reconnect with their own biological and emotional complexity, proposing a form of knowledge that is sensorial, relational, and alive.

For this occasion, Nicola will present his post-performance performance "I AM SANDSTORM"

An absurdist act of autotheory exploring the surreal condition of post-modern living: a pure act of resistance against conformity. Lost in a vast landscape of dunes, an individual sees only sand in every direction. One colour. One taste. One dimension. Everything is purely an infinite repetition of sameness. In the principle of enantiodromia, the way out becomes the way in. The only escape is to let go of form and imposed structure and transform into the sandstorm.

𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿: 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀 & 𝗝𝗮𝗺 𝘄/ @𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗱𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻

After the very stimulating panel talk last saturday, we conclude our time at Suiker Biedt Plek with a day around all things synthesizer.

We open from 13:00 till 16:00 with a Synthesizer workshop. In the workshop explains the basics of a synthesizer using the free software VCVrack. The workshop requires no prior knowledge and is aimed at providing the first stepping stone in the world of synth. Alternatively if you have experience with synths/music production but want to fresh up the basics, if you mention this at the start there are some bonus exercises you can do. You will need to bring your own laptop (with vcv installed) and headphones to follow along.

After a short break for a chat and a snack, we continue at 17:00 with a synth jam. Here you can bring your synth(s), and connect to the main mixer and midi clock to participate in our semi-regular freeform synth jam focused on spontaneous interaction on the Liminoid Soundystem. Please let us know if you want to join so we can bring a big enough mixer and table.

Oh yeah and they're also both music making devices 🎶😋

As you've might have seen we as Liminoid are organizing multiple different events during the month October at the Suikerbiedt plek.

This Saturday (11th) we'll do a full-on Orchestra! 😜 It's a double workshop, where you can attent either one, or both! 🙌
Digital b2b Analog, Nature b2b Computer, hand crafted b2b sound effects, Tamar de Jong b2b Jos Lok, it's going to be a crazy fun day 🤪

For the Ocarina workshop, you're going to handcraft your own Ocarina from clay with a unique sound! There will be pre-made examples, or get creative and design your own! Mastercrafter has everything you'll need and she will bake your ocarina later. (you can pick them up at another Liminoid event.. )
For the Ableton workshop we'll be using some of the (premade) Ocarinas to record the sounds as samples, and manipulate them to your likings! Multitalent Jos Lok will guide you through the first steps to create your real original track!
We expect you to bring a laptop(don't forget your charger), with an installed version of Ableton Live (you can download and try for free from ableton.com/en/trial).

On Saturday the 25th of October, for those who like to combine hand crafting and electronics into music, there is the synthesizer workshop!

All workshops are free to attent, we'll have coffee and some drinks available. Remember to bring some food, especially if you intend to stay for longer.
