I’m not a milestone guy, stats for musicians are generally useless and should be reserved for box scores, but this song hit a bit of streaming milestone (go see for yourself). This song is from the 2016 album “Midwest Heart/ Southern Blues” and I wrote it after watching a documentary called “Medora” about the town in Central Indiana west of Seymour. The characters in the movie had three options 1. Crime/ Drugs 2. Religion 3. Join the military. When I first started taking my songwriting seriously, to make ends meet I played some HORRIBLE and scary places in Southern & Central Indiana. You’d see farmers in s**t kickers with mud and plants stuck to them breaking up pills on the hood of a truck. It’s part of the reason I never sit and play live because I didn’t know who was going to walk up on me. This song was a deep album track so it’s cool to see it getting some recognition, and this vid was recorded in Somerset KY in the Fall of 2016 at the Center for Rural Economic Development. Anyways, if I ever get my own brand of chips like Uncle Ray’s I’ll print anecdotes like this on the bag. Onward, Thanks for listening.
