I’ve always thought spring and autumn were my favourite seasons.

But this summer, being in a new “home” gave me a new perspective.

It was the first season I finally felt I was truly starting to like Utrecht — with all the history it holds for me to explore, the little green pockets tucked into a densely built city centre, and the canals and centuries-old trees intertwining with the façades of the city.

I truly and deeply enjoyed the sunny days. The light — especially at sunset, when the skies turn deep blue. So much so that I think I can now call it my favourite moment of a northern summer day.

I paid attention to my days as if I were already on holiday. And oh, how I loved it.

The abundance of blooming flowers — all sorts, everywhere. Picking them, pressing them. It became a ritual. Something meditative. A way to hold on to the beauty that surrounds us.

From that feeling, I held on to four flowers. Four favourites.

And I created Held by Summer.

Nine original prints. Two backgrounds — Peignoir, a romantic grey-pink and Brinjal, a sophisticated aubergine, both inspired from the Farrow & Ball colour palette.

Not quite the kind of Monday I had in mind. 😅

A killer Pilates session, then big kids, bigger problems… and straight back on the go to find the right frames for our brand-new collection.

Thank God it’s night. 🙏 I’m already in bed, furry cuddles, feet up, breathing in what helps me stay calm and present, and breathing out the stress and heaviness of the day.

Tomorrow is a new day, right? 🤍

This summer, I didn’t go on holiday until the very last week.

There was a wedding to attend—my baby cousin’s. I’ve been living abroad for almost 20 years, and I realised the last wedding I attended was probably my own. 😅

Living abroad for so long, and perhaps getting older too, has made me think more about what it means to belong. I’m not sure I still feel that I fully belong in my home country, but even though my family and I have drifted apart over the years, there’s still something that connects us.

We still come together, eat big meals, laugh, catch up, tell stories—and, perhaps most importantly, remind each other that we’re there for one another.

I’m back now. I’ve lost a little momentum, but I’ve also come back rested, with a full heart and good energy.

Sometimes a little pause is exactly what we need. 🌿

How incredible that three of my works have been selected for the ‘Botanicals & Bloom’ exhibition across the water starting soon. 🌿

It’s the first time my work will been shown in the UK, and I’m incredibly excited about it.

I’m also curious to see how the pieces will be experienced in the context of the exhibition. There’s something so interesting about watching a work take on a different meaning or feeling when it enters a new space and meets a new audience.

Even though the sunny skies are on hold for a little while, I still need to share this summer’s favourite breakfast bowl. ☀️🌻

Greek yoghurt, wild peaches, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, and a drizzle of maple syrup. So fresh, simple, healthy and delicious.

Oh, and those puppy eyes… clearly hoping for a little taste. 🐶🤍
