This summer, I didnât go on holiday until the very last week.
There was a wedding to attendâmy baby cousinâs. Iâve been living abroad for almost 20 years, and I realised the last wedding I attended was probably my own. đ
Living abroad for so long, and perhaps getting older too, has made me think more about what it means to belong. Iâm not sure I still feel that I fully belong in my home country, but even though my family and I have drifted apart over the years, thereâs still something that connects us.
We still come together, eat big meals, laugh, catch up, tell storiesâand, perhaps most importantly, remind each other that weâre there for one another.
Iâm back now. Iâve lost a little momentum, but Iâve also come back rested, with a full heart and good energy.
Sometimes a little pause is exactly what we need. đż
