Further images from the 1977 Swedish GP

Swedish GP held at the Anderstorp Raceway in 1977. I was covering this event for a couple of publications which meant I had a photographer pass allowing me access to the pits and circuit.
My lasting memory is standing at hairpin with the cars a few metres away and watching the 6 wheeled Tyrrell coming to the apex with opposite lock on all four front wheels!
Enzo Ferrari was reported to have said "only trucks have 6 wheels".

The race was held at the Oran Park circuit

The race was held at Brands Hatch and was sunny and hot!
There was 6 seconds covering the grid after practice which was headed up by Jacky Ickx in a Ferrari.
Once again the finishing rate was very low with 16 cars retiring, only 3 cars on the same lap at the finisher, Emerson Fittipaldi.

I was standing at the final corner of this GP waiting for Brabham to claim victory over Jochen Rindt when he made a mess of it and drove into the hay bales!

A collection of my photos from the 1969 Dutch GP at Zandvoort Circuit. It was won by Jackie Stewart in a Matra-Ford and looking at the DNF's it makes you realise how fragile these cars were with half the field failing to finish!

More photos from my motor racing archives. These photos are from 1969 Monaco GP which was won by Graham Hill in a Lotus Ford.
There are some nice shots of Chris Amon in the Ferrari garage, drivers walking to the race start and one showing a F1 car in traffic!! Ah! Those were the days.
