Indie Comedy: Chill, cosy, intimate. Our shows are in English. That Comedy Thing is an English Comedy Night in Amsterdam created by Roxy and Alexander, two aspiring comedians with a lot of stage time under their belts.
They wanted a place for up-and-coming comedians and more experienced ones to have a platform to improve and develop, but also for them to feel comfortable trying new material, styles and longer sets. They have now expanded from West to a second location in Oost, doing five shows a month.

About last Wednesday at Vice Versa We were so happy to have our friend Sam Humes back in Amsterdam! Sam is one of the original comics from the days when the English comedy scene consisted of maybe 4 or 5 different shows. Sam will be in the country until the 16th and is available for booking next week. Contact him on social media for more.

Olivia Flood-Wylie is one of our favorite comedians to come out of the international Amsterdam comedy scene. This incredibly talented comedian is truely a must see act.
Starting out in comedy only a couple of years ago, Flood-Wylie debuted her hour at Boom Chicago comedy festival last summer. She's recently opened for Dara Γ Briain and seems to be on her way to the inevitable success that talent like this deserves.

Yes, itβs true! TCT is back. We're planning to return July 2nd! If government regulations allow us That Comedy Thing will return to Amsterdam Noord for the first time in almost 9 months. We are ready to go, our first line-up is locked, our venue ClinkNOORD is ready and we canβt wait to have you guys back!
Tickets will be on sale when the government green lights events like ours.

Happy 2021! Around this time last year, we were still hosting shows where people crowded around to watch open mic comedy. Something tells us that in the future weΒ΄ll look back at this Β΄eraΒ΄ of underground comedy in Amsterdam. So much talent. Like Sarah Warren, who later moved back to her home country of Canada and who we miss dearly.
Also, weΒ΄re humbled to see our Youtube subscriber count nearly double in 24 hours, we are now close to 10 subs! π

We just found this on our hard drive, January 2020. Just before we all realized how sh*tty this years was about to become. It made us nostalgic for a time so recent and so long ago at the same time.

We miss these moments. That time when Olivia Flood Wylie turned her material into a headliner worthy 30 minute set and smashed it at our show.
Hey (aspiring) comedians! Bummed you canΒ΄t go to shows? We know we are. Since we're still in lockdown mode, we'd like to point out some other cool stuff you could do. Consider taking a course from our good friends at easylaughs. Many of the comedians we know and love in our Amsterdam scene have done courses there, so we have no problem recommending them. They have a new course starting December 3rd by the awesome Lara Ricote. For Improvers there's a new class starting December 2nd.
And when we say 'we recommend' and 'our good friends at..' we don't mean it in a Marc Maron recommends Simply Safe or Tom Segura loving Saatva Luxury Mattress kind of way, we mean it in a 'this is not an ad these guys are seriously awesome and deserve some support' kind of way.
Check 'em out and in the mean time wear a mask in the Jumbo so we can start doing shows with TCT again soon ;)
