✨ Throwback to 2022 ✨

These photos take me back to the very first days of the Tiri Tiri Flamenco Choir in Amsterdam, in 2022. A time full of curiosity, discovery, and the first sparks of something that would grow into a beautiful community.

Captured by our dear friend Lulu Lightning, these moments show one of our early rehearsals—sharing rhythm, voice, and energy together, alongside the wonderful dancer Claudia Karapanou.

So much passion in the room, so many new voices finding their place within flamenco… 💃🎶

Grateful for how it all started—and excited for everything that continues to unfold.

Every summer, I organize flamenco festivals in GREECE, in Crete and in Ypati.
They are not just festivals.
They are meeting points.
People come from all over the world, drawn by flamenco, and through it they travel to discover Greece — its landscapes, its rhythm, its people — and they become part of our community.

Different languages, different backgrounds, different stories, sharing the same compás, the same tables, the same sunsets.
What is created there goes far beyond classes or performances.
It is coexistence.
It is belonging.
These are priceless moments — moments that stay with us long after the music fades.
And this, too, is why I keep going. ✨

From January to June 2026, we gather in Amsterdam Noord for a new cycle of flamenco singing classes, two Saturdays per month.

This series dives deep into the expressive world of Rondeñas, while also embracing the festive energy of Bulerías and Tangos festeros.
Whether you come to study, to listen, or to share, these classes are more than lessons — they are community gatherings. A space to learn together, sing together, and grow together.

Let’s explore together the most playful, free, and expressive palo of flamenco — the bulería — in a seminar that blends tradition with imagination!

In this special two-day workshop, flamenco singer Yota Baron will guide us into the world of bulería — not just as a rhythm or a regional style, but as a living, breathing personality full of character and emotion.

Instead of focusing only on geography (Jerez, Utrera, Cádiz, etc.), we will dive into the many personalities of the bulería — each one telling a different story:
💃 from the cheeky, festive bulerías of Jerez,
💔 to the heartbroken letras coming from Madrid,
🕺 to the bold expressions of a macho, or the lyrical echoes of a rondeña interpreted por bulería...

We’ll discover new ways of listening, feeling, and connecting letras – beyond form, into expression.

🎶 My journey as a singing teacher 🎶

I was taught Byzantine music from a very young age and spent years chanting in churches.
When flamenco entered my life, I embraced it as if it had always been mine.

My deep love for singing — and my need to share what I know — led me to develop my own teaching method. It grew from the questions I once had as a student, the answers I received from great maestros, and the many discoveries I made through my own practice.

My passion for teaching naturally blended into the beautiful world of flamenco singing.
I’ve been teaching since 2005, and I know I still have so much to learn… and that’s exactly what I love about it! I’ll never stop studying, because every step forward helps me guide others who carry the same questions I once had.

This video was recorded back in 2010 with the choir LOS GATOS NEGROS in Athens.
