Kalonji is the side project of Sigma Nolak, who has already earned recognition with his psy-techno sets at prestigious events such as Bom Voyage & Solstice Festival in Amsterdam and Wonderland Festival Waldfrieden (Germany). The name Kalonji carries a deep symbolic resonance – in African tradition it is tied to heritage and strength, in the Middle East it is known as the “seed of blessing,” and in
reggae culture it embodies spirituality and rebellion. The project was inspired by two remarkable figures of the global scene: Marciana aka Back to Mars and Hermann Stoehr aka DJoanna. Their sets and artistic approach became the spark that ignited this new alias. As Kalonji, he explores the full spectrum of psy techno – from hypnotic deep, through spacious minimal, to the driving force of psy tech.
