Music at the Art Bazaar - Blog - TrouwAmsterdam

We've got something really exciting in store for you this Thursday at the last edition of New Music For Found Footage.

We'll be showing the iconic film Lyrisch Nitraat by Peter Delpeut, one Europe’s most respected contemporary experimental filmmakers, which consists of clips from various silent films printed on decaying film stock. This tribute to early cinema has been reviewed as “the work of a poet” by The New York Times and awarded internationally since its release in 1991.

If that's not enough, British dubstep pioneer Sam Shackleton will be performing a new live score to this found footage film. Don't miss out of this, it's gonna be a one-of-a-kind night!

While we were roaming our archives for The Trouw Book, we found this cool picture of Shackleton back at a 360 night in 2011.

Coincidentally, Sam Shackleton will be performing a new original score to Peter Delpeut's iconic masterpiece Lyrisch Nitraat at the very last New Music For Found Footage on November 13.

This is the New Museum, a leading destination for new art and new ideas located in New York. It's the only dedicated contemporary art museum in the city and respected internationally for the adventurousness and global scope of its curatorial program.

The New Museum will be the curator of the last Trouw Invites..., for which they invited the art collective AUNTS to create a new immersive moving-image installation right here in De Hal.

The grand opening will take place on Thursday November 6. Come and join us on this special evening!

"This is a sequential circuit Pro-One, it's a pretty well-known synthesizer. I got it in the nineties and I traded it for an Akai VX90 synthesizer module with a Spanish flamingo guitarist."

The last couple of weeks, you might have seen or heard something about the project "Here Today Gone Tomorrow" by Rayyane Tabet we're currently displaying in De Hal.

In the lead-up to the premiere and exhibition of his installation, Mirla Klijn made a short documentary in which Rayyane Tabet discusses how his installation functions as a point of convergence for our visitors in order to situate yourself in the history of our building.
