🚨Meet our soloist!🚨

The last student of the late Antonio Meneses at the Hochschule der Künste Bern, Joël Geniet won the 1st prize at age 19 of the 2022 International Jeunesses Musicales Competition Belgrade.

He is frequently performing as a soloist with orchestra, having notably been invited at age 21 to make his debut at Smetana Hall, Prague. In 2026, he has also performed as a soloist with the Stauffer Ensemble at the Auditorium of the Museo del Violino, Cremona, with the Orchestra Lagrandt under the direction of Ian Plansker at the Yehudi Menuhin Forum, Bern, as well as with the Berner Symphonieorchester under the direction of James Hendry in the Great hall of the Casino Bern.

Joël Geniet currently continues his studies with Frans Helmerson in “Performance Diploma” at the Accademia Stauffer – Cremona, where he has been awarded the Cremona Rotary Club scholarship for the years 2026 and 2027 as the best cello student, as well as with István Várdai at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.
