I often receive responses that make me realize many people assume I focus stack my photos. Especially since I shoot with an OM-1.
But I don’t.
I’d love to, but bees move far too quickly for focus bracketing. They rarely stay still for even a second. Just watch the video at the end. 🐝
For me, it’s all about patience, observation, and anticipating how the bee will move so I can capture a sharp image at exactly the right moment.
One thing I’d really like to do is head out early one morning to photograph sleeping bees. That would give me the chance to work in peace and finally practice focus bracketing.
Like most people here, though, life is busy, and I value my sleep, so I haven’t made it happen yet.
And if I’m being completely honest, the idea of heading out alone before sunrise to a quiet, deserted nature reserve is a little intimidating too. So… maybe someone would like to join me? 😅🤣
