This is why they consider funk, soul, hiphop, disco, drum&bass, latin and even house as a musical base. Getting their inspiration from the old heroes to the latest dance floor killers. That quality of Wicked Jazz Sounds includes the sincere love for music by the performers and the unique blend of people that come to dance. Those people who love Wicked Jazz Sounds can not be placed into one subculture. Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever your background is, as long as you can you leave your attitude behind and dance with a smile, it means that you belong to the Wicked Jazz Sounds family. Wicked Jazz Sounds continued with her very successful weekly club nights for 18 years in the Amsterdam dance and club scene. Never missing a Sunday night throughout those years. Call it a society, an institute or what you want, Wicked Jazz Sounds has left her footprint in Dutch nightlife culture. Unfortunately the pandemic of 2020 forced the club night to end and will not return on a weekly base. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel as the year 2023 started with a continuation of the so much loved gathering of music and dancing minded people...the so called Wicked Jazz Sounds club night. *Other historical facts*
Radio: Wicked Jazz Sounds used to have several radio shows on Dutch national radio and also commercial and internet radio. From 2008 until 2013 these shows were a portal to discover old and new music plus a platform to a long list of international DJs to participate. Wicked Jazz Sounds Band: The band arose from the popular Wicked Jazz Sounds club nights where these musicians jammed together with the DJs since 2002. The philosophy ‘dance with a smile’ is the red line through the music of this band. Their Edison Award nominated debut album ‘The Biggest Sin’ was released in 2009 and they toured for two years, rocking stages throughout the Netherlands and across. The band than transformed into Wicked Jazz Connection in 2014 releasing an album with the same name.
