📣 Met trots kondigen wij de eerste filmtitel én wereldpremière van het festival aan: Wij praten niet van Marjolein Busstra.
Een intrigerende documentaire van diepgaande gesprekken tussen therapeuten en jongeren die verstrikt zijn geraakt in het complexe netwerk van seksueel geweld en uitbuiting. De film wijst ons op het belang van signalering omtrent seksueel geweld en opent het gesprek in een wereld waarin jongeren zich vaak niet veilig genoeg voelen om hierover te praten.

We are proud to announce the festival’s first film title and world premiere: Wij praten niet (We Don't Talk) by Marjolein Busstra. A confronting documentary of in-depth conversations between therapists and youngsters who are entangled in the complex network of sexual violence and exploitation.
We praten niet is produced by Halal Film and Photography, in collaboration with KRO-NCRV.
Panorama of the European Film بانوراما الفيلم الأوروبي is an annual event in Cairo, Egypt, that was launched in 2004. Over a period of 11 days, the Panorama showcases some of the latest award-winning feature and documentary films as well as cinematic landmarks and classics from all over Europe. This year, which is the 14th edition, three Dutch (co-)productions are screening at the festival:
🔹 I DON'T WANNA DANCE, directed by Flynn von Kleist and produced by The Rogues (including Q&A with the director!)
🔹 SILENCE OF THE TIDES, directed by Pieter-Rim de Kroon and produced by Windmill Film
🔹 ALL-IN, directed by Volkan Üce and co-produced by Halal Film and Photography

The Taste of Desire is een filmische reis rond de wereld, waarin vijf ogenschijnlijk verschillende persoonlijke verhalen met elkaar verbonden raken door ieders unieke band met de oester. Een burlesque-danser uit New York, die het dagelijks leven als moeder probeert te combineren met haar beruchte oester-act op de bühne. Twee Franse Michelin-ster chef-koks, die streven te ontkomen aan de stress op de werkvloer in een door egocentrisme gedreven vakgebied. Een jonge, Zw**dse vrouw op een keerpunt in haar leven, nadat ze haar succesvolle modecarrière in de grote stad achter heeft gelaten om oesterduiker te worden in de vrije natuur. Een Japanse pareljuwelenmaker wiens missie het is om schoonheid in imperfecties te vinden. En tot slot een terminaal zieke Engelse psycholoog, die zijn levenswerk – een boek over oesters – probeert af te maken voor de dood hem inhaalt. Door hun ambities en existentiële angsten bloot te leggen, drijft de complexiteit van het menselijk verlangen dat hieraan ten grondslag ligt naar de oppervlakte. Hoe ver zijn we bereid te gaan om onze verlangens te bevredigen? En kunnen ze ooit écht worden vervuld?
