I MARRIED MY BOSS
continuation
The following Saturday at the academy, I had no idea that my status had changed.
Everyone greeted me as if I were the boss. I tried to relate with everyone the way I always had, but they were all suddenly so careful around me.
However, there was one particular lady named Grace. She was one of the tutors at the academy, and she seemed to resent me.
Throughout that day, she was cold and unfriendly toward me. Even when I asked her questions about the practicals we had been assigned, she would simply refer me to other students instead of helping me.
This attitude continued for weeks, and it was becoming unbearable. Eventually, I had to tell Leo about it.
Leo promised to speak to the manager on my behalf.
But I still wasn't satisfied with the situation. I began to wonder if there was something going on between Leo and Grace, so I asked him directly if he had ever had anything to do with her.
He told me no.
So, I decided to let the matter rest.
The following Saturday, Grace tried to behave better, although I could tell she was struggling to hide her feelings. I also decided to keep my distance from her because I didn't understand the reason behind her behavior.
During our break, one of the students came over and sat beside me. Her name was Chioma.
I was surprised that she approached me because she had never spoken to me before.
"Can I sit with you?" she asked.
"Of course," I replied.
"How can I help you?" I asked, wondering why she had come to me.
She looked around before speaking.
"I have something important to tell you," she said.
I became curious.
She then told me that Grace was her friend and that Grace had always admired Leo from a distance.
According to Chioma, Grace had put in a lot of effort to help build the academy into what it was today. She had always hoped that, one day, Leo would notice her and perhaps fall in love with her.
But Grace was heartbroken when she discovered that Leo was now dating one of the students.
Me.
I was shocked.
I had no idea that any of this had been going on behind the scenes.
Suddenly, everything became clear.
Now I understood why Grace had been treating me so badly.
After that conversation, I decided to avoid Grace as much as possible. I didn't want any trouble or unnecessary drama.
Besides, I had only five weeks left before my graduation.
I just wanted to finish my training peacefully and move on with my life.

I MARRIED MY BOSS
continuation

I couldn't wait to close from work on Monday. I had brought an extra dress with me in my bag, so I changed into it before leaving the office.
We met at a beautiful restaurant and bar. Leo looked incredibly handsome, and I couldn't take my eyes off him.
It seemed he felt the same way about me.
As we sat at the table waiting for our meal, we held hands. It felt so beautiful and romantic.
Leo didn't waste any time. He went straight to the point.
"Would you be mine?" he asked.
I was surprised. He didn't beat around the bush at all.
So, I decided to give him the same energy.
"Yes," I replied immediately.
How could I have said no? This was exactly what I had secretly desired since the very first day I saw him.
Then I remembered the question that had been on my mind.
"Why is the name of the academy on your business card?" I asked.
He smiled and told me the truth.
He owned the fashion academy.
Not only that, but he also had several other branches across the country.
"Yet, you look so simple," I said, staring at him in disbelief. "Whenever you come around, you don't carry yourself like the boss. You just walk in quietly as if you're an ordinary person."
He simply smiled.
The following weekend, I went to the academy for my training. Leo had told me that he would come and pick me up after my training session.
I immediately became nervous.
I didn't want the other students and workers to see him picking me up. So, I told him I would come to meet him instead.
But Leo insisted.
Eventually, I agreed.
As the closing time drew closer, I became increasingly nervous.
Then, exactly thirty minutes before closing time, Leo arrived.
But this time, he didn't go straight to the manager's office as he usually did.
Instead, he walked straight to my desk.
Everyone was surprised.
Someone immediately rushed to inform the manager that Leo was around.
The manager quickly came out of his office to welcome him.
But Leo stopped him.
"Don't worry," he said with a smile. "I'm not here for work today. I'm here to pick up my woman."
Everyone was stunned.
I could practically see the questions forming in their minds.
Are they just getting to know each other?
Or have they been dating for a while?
Did Cynthia register at the academy just to spy on us?
I could see the shocked and curious expressions on everyone's faces.
And honestly, I couldn't blame them.
If I were in their shoes, I would have had questions too.
