š BOOK ONE OF THE PARADOX SERIES š
It's a Sunday evening, and I find myself at The House CafƩ in Lagos, one of the most expensive and exclusive places in the city. The atmosphere is perfect: soft jazz playing in the background, the gentle clink of silverware, and the warm, ambient light casting a cozy glow over everything. But all of this pales in comparison to the woman sitting across from me.
Diana looks stunning tonight. The soft curls of her hair frame her face perfectly, and her eyes shine with a brilliance that captivates me every time. As we eat, I can't help but get lost in her presence.
"You know," I begin, setting my fork down and looking directly at her, "you are absolutely breathtaking."
She blushes, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Thank you, Joshua. You don't look too bad yourself."
We talk about our lives, our pasts, our dreams. The conversation flows effortlessly, like it always does with her. But as we talk about the future, I can't help but dream out loud.
"I've been thinking a lot about our future," I say, reaching across the table to take her hand. " I want us to have a proper life together, maybe even a kid or two. Somewhere in Miami."
Her smile falters slightly, and a shadow passes over her face. "Joshua, I want that too, more than anything. But with everything that's happeningāwith Clinton still out thereāI'm worried. Bringing a child into this world right now, with all the ongoing conflicts, it feels like a bad idea."
I squeeze her hand gently, understanding her concerns. "I know things are uncertain, Diana. The world is a dangerous place, and our fight is far from over. But I believe in us. I believe our strength, our ability to overcome whatever comes our way."
She looks into my eyes, her expression softening. "It's just... it's a lot to think about. I don't want to bring a child into a world where they might not be safe."
I nod, taking a deep breath. "I get it. And we'll face that decision together, when the time is right. For now, let's focus on us, on our love. Because no matter what happens, I know we can get through it together."
Her eyes glisten with unshed tears, and she squeezes my hand back. "I love you, Joshua."
I smile, leaning in to kiss her softly. "I love you 3000."
We finish our meal, the weight of our conversation lingering but not overshadowing the love we share. As we head towards our car, I can't help but feel a profound sense of hope. No matter what challenges lie ahead, I know we'll face them together, stronger than ever.
Hand in hand, we walk through the night, ready to take on whatever the future holds.
Omniscient POV
As the ceremonies concluded and the celebrations began to wind down, Joshua and Diana made their way towards their car. The night air was cool, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the nearby trees. They walked hand in hand, the weight of the past months finally beginning to lift from their shoulders.
Just as they reached the car, a figure emerged from the shadows. Joshua stopped abruptly, his grip on Diana's hand tightening. His eyes widened in surprise and confusion. "Who's that?" he asked, pointing towards the man standing before them.
Diana looked around, puzzled. "Joshua, there's no one there. What's wrong?"
Joshua's heart raced. "You don't see him? He's right in front of us!"
The man stepped closer, his presence somehow both ethereal and commanding. "Only you can see me, Joshua," he said, his voice calm and reassuring. "We've got problems ahead."
Before Joshua could respond, Uriel appeared, materializing out of thin air with a sense of urgency. "Michael!" he called out, his eyes locking onto the mysterious figure. "I had a hunch you would show up."
Michael nodded, his expression serious. "Uriel, it's been a long time."
"Long indeed........ Lond in... Deed." Uriel replied sarcastically.
Joshua looked between the two angels, his mind racing to make sense of the situation. "During the war a Jerusalem, wasn't he the one who mysteriously showed up, we all could see him. What is going on? Why can I see him, but Diana can't?"
Uriel stepped forward, his gaze steady on Michael. "Michael is a higher celestial being. Only those with a specific spiritual attunement can perceive him in this state. Which you happened to have because of your father."
" What? " I asked in a usion of confusion and and suprise.
" Remember u told you your dad had help from someone, cause there was no way a human could defeat one of the most strongest fallens of haven. Well here's the someone. Michael." Uriel replied smiling cool.
" Remember when you were pushed into the basement and almost broke your neck, This n***a did it." Uriel added
" Uriel!! " Michael called with a commanding tone.
Diana, still unable to see Michael, looked to Joshua for answers. "What's he saying? Who is this Michael?, He pushed you"
Joshua took a deep breath, trying to process everything. "Michael is an archangel, one of the highest order. And for some reasons He's been following us, me specifically."
Michael nodded. "There are dark forces at play, Joshua. Forces that go beyond anything you've faced before. You and your team are crucial to the balance between light and dark. Clintons cause are justified but he's being lead astray."
Uriel's expression grew more serious. "I've been tracking unusual activities, sensing disruptions in the celestial realm. I knew Michael would intervene sooner or later."
Joshua turned to Michael. " Sorry you lost me when you said justified ?"
Michael's gaze was intense, his presence almost overwhelming. "Prepare yourselves. The battles you've fought are just the beginning. The true war is coming, Clinton will unleash havoc on you Kel. On YOU. and it will test every ounce of your strength and resolve."
Uriel placed a reassuring hand on Joshua's shoulder. "We've gotten to the part where you probably die."
" WHAT!!! " Joshua and Diana echoed the same time.
" Alright let's get outta here." Uriel said immediately snapping his fingers and they all find theirselves bact at Stine Mansion.
Omniscient POV Stine mansion.
As Joshua, Diana, Michael, and Uriel arrived at the Stine Mansion, the grand structure loomed over them, bathed in the moon's soft glow.
"And my car,? Joshua asked turning to Uriel"
"Come on you have almost a trillion dollars in your account and you're worried about one car? " Uriel replied as he made way inside.
" I'm going to kill him" Joshua mumbled to himself and Diana pat his back.
Entering the mansion, they found Judith working diligently at her workstation, surrounded by a flurry of holographic screens and data readouts. She looked up as they entered, her eyes briefly betraying a flash of jealousy when she saw Joshua and Diana together. But she quickly masked it with a warm smile.
"Welcome back," Judith said, her voice steady. "How did it go?"
Before Joshua could respond, Ben walked in, carrying a steaming cup of coffee. "Kel, thought you could use this," he said, handing the cup to Joshua with a grin.
"Thanks, Ben," Joshua replied, taking the cup gratefully.
Uriel looked around the room, noting Jezebel's absence. "Where's Jezebel?" he asked.
Judith glanced up from her work. "She's upstairs, meditating. Or something like that."
Uriel snatched the coffee from Joshua and took a sip of his coffee, the warmth spreading through him as he gathered his thoughts. "We need to have a discussion," he said, "Let's gather everyone."
A few minutes later, Jezebel joined them in the main hall, looking serene but focused. The team settled into their seats, the gravity of the situation clear on their faces.
Judith broke the silence first. "Why can only Joshua and Uriel see this Michael? What's going on?"
Joshua exchanged a glance with Michael and Uriel before responding. "It's a long story, but essentially, Michael is a higher celestial being. His presence is only visible to those with a specific spiritual attunement."
Judith frowned, her curiosity piqued. "So, it's a matter of spiritual perception?"
" Then why can't I see him" Jezebel asked.
" Uhm Love it's for the best you know you're a witch right? " Uriel asked. "Michael's form transcends what most humans can perceive."
Ben nodded thoughtfully. "That explains a lot. But what does Michael's appearance mean for us now?"
" Yes what does Michaels appearance mean for us now" Uriel added coozinly
Michael stepped forward, his expression solemn. "It means the stakes are higher than ever. Dark forces are mobilizing, and the balance between light and dark is at a tipping point."
"oh really now" Uriel asked sarcastically. " Given that you drove one quarter of our brothers down here what do you expect. A peaceful co-existance.
"They were all destined to fall one way or the other Uriel. Azaziel, samyaza, Azkel, Danel, and all of those 200 more who fell just cause of the daughters of Men. I had nothing to do with that." Michael replied trying to prove his right.
The whole team just stood still lost in their conversation. Joshua who could see both Uriel and Michael was even more lost.
Michael..... I did what I had to do brother....
Uriel.... Can you even hear your self. You casted one-third of our brothers from their home to suffer.
Michael..... You know my name and what I stand for. Lucifer claimed to be God, he was commiting treason. He wanted the seat of my father. Our father.
Uriel...... And you thought casting him out was the better idea.....
Michael..... It was my only choice. Uriel I needed you I needed your wisdom your words, and where were you? Trying to protect Lucifer in his wrong.
Uriel..... Lucifer was lost, I was trying to stop you from bringing the whole heavens to earth.
Judith..... Erm should we do something?
Jezebel..... That's Michael there, it'd be better if he didn't know we exist at this moment.
Michael...... Even if I had stopped what about Lucifer do you think he would.
Uriel..... He would if I don't come with a sword in my fu***ng tongue. Michael you asked me a question and I'm bringing it back to you. You know your name and what it means. Mich-a-EL ( who is like God). And Lu-Ci-Fer ( bright and morning star) look at the difference, everything about him was pride, elegance. Father created Man from the dust and said we..... WE should all kneel before him and you think a person with that name wouldn't fu***ng object? Huh?.
Michael..... But you didn't.
Uriel..... Why are you so dense. I am the fu***ng Angel of wisdom I knew better than to object. If you had listen maybe leviathan wouldn't be on the verge of ending not just Man, but the whole. Universe
The whole team....... Universe?
Uriel.... Multi- verse and it's all because you were cruel enough not to even think of a better but to cast them out.
Michael..... So all this was why you left? Look at you. Look at what you've become. Father killed the people of S***M AND GOMORRAH for less. At least all I did was cast them out.
Uriel.... Meaning?
Michael..... How many if your.... Our so called brothers have you killed since your falling. Behemoth, Belzebub, countless lower ranked, amdany more.
Uriel..... You killed Belzebub.
Michael....... my point still stands.
Uriel..... Well, a guys gotta do what a guys gotta do now ain't it?.
"Okay okay okay"
Joshua stepped between them, raising his hands in a placating gesture. "You guys are destroying everything I knew and use to take you to be. I can't even believe this is real but given the circumstances I am speechless."
The tension in the room was palpable, but Joshua's intervention had a calming effect. Uriel took a step back, his expression still tense, while Michael crossed his arms, his gaze unwavering.
Michael looked at Joshua, his expression softening slightly. "There's something you all need to know," he began. "Clinton's actions are driven by more than just a lust for power. He seeks revenge for the death of his parents."
The room fell silent, each member of the team absorbing the gravity of Michael's words.
"What did he say Joshua" Diana asked as the rest of the team turns to him with the same questioning look.
" He says Clinton is causing all this havoc cause of his parents."
"His parents?" Diana asked, confusion etched on her face.
"Yes," Michael continued. And as he talked Joshua relayed everything to the team. "Years ago, Joshua's father trapped Leviathan, one of the prime arch's if heaven who fell along side Lucifer. During that battle, Clinton's parents were collateral damage. They were innocent bystanders, caught in the crossfire of a battle between titanic forces. Harrison Ford and Martha Ford."
Judith's eyes widened in realization. "So, Clinton blames Joshua's family for their deaths?"
"Exactly," Michael confirmed. "His grief and rage have twisted him, leading him to align with dark forces to wreak havoc on the world. He believes that by causing destruction, he can avenge his parents' deaths."
Ben shook his head, his expression grim. "This complicates things. It's not just about power; it's personal."
" Did you know about this, did father know about this" Joshua asked turning to Ben.
" There was bound to be many casualties death's not every one of them we would have known."
" And Kel enterprise? " Michael asked. "The company his father built, the company he now owns, the one that makes him the richest man in the world.? "
" Ben, am I missing something? " Joshua asked with a sense of confusion in the air.
Main while .......
"Ford enterprise use to be a joint co-operation with What use to be known as Stine enterprise. that is before the death of my parents." Clinton said as he walked towards the table picking up a pair of clippers as he approached the table.
The man strapped to the chair whimpered, the metallic clink of restraints echoing in the silence. his voice steady and almost conversational. He rolled the clippers in his hand, his eyes fixed on the man.
The man flinched as Clinton took a step closer, his breath quickening in fear.
"After their deaths, Ford Enterprise spiraled into debt," Clinton continued, his tone devoid of emotion. "We partnered with Israel, the Americans, and other nations, hoping to salvage what we could. But when we fell into debt, they all took everything from us."
Clinton tightened his grip on the clippers, the cold metal reflecting his hardened expression. "Augustus Sabastine, having more shares, took seventy percent of the company, leaving nothing behind for me. I was left with a debt-ridden company, forced to roam the streets, searching for a way back."
He moved closer, the clippers now inches from the man's trembling face. "Through crooked means, I found my way. By sponsoring terrorists in Palestine and funding the Russian government, Ford Enterprise regained its former glory."
As he spoke, Clinton began to use the clippers, each snip accompanied by the man's cries of agony. "I clawed my way back to the top, no matter the cost. And now, I stand stronger than ever."
" You know why I'm building that machine,? Somewhere out there, my father's still alive. I can sense him...... I've been having visions. And that machine is going to bring me to the one person who can help me." And in bringing him back I'll destroy the world that's cost me pain."
With a final, deliberate snip, Clinton stepped back, revealing the man's face. It was the President, his eyes wide with terror and pain. Clinton's expression remained unchanged, cold and resolute.
"Mister President," Clinton said, his voice dripping with contempt. "Your time is up."
With a swift, merciless motion, Clinton finished the job, the room falling silent once more. He straightened up, wiping the clippers clean as he surveyed the aftermath of his vengeance.
The President's lifeless body slumped in the chair, a stark reminder of the ruthless lengths Clinton had gone to reclaim his power. He turned and walked away, his footsteps echoing in the dim light, leaving behind a scene of grim retribution.
From Clinton's perspective, it was not just an act of revenge, but a testament to his resilience and determination. He had risen from the ashes, and no one would stand in his way again.
To be continued......
Do you think clintons cause is justified or he's being led astray. And by who?
