2. Dubai: Transformed from a small trading port to a luxurious city by foreign workers and investors, mainly from India, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

3. United States of America: Built by immigrants from various countries, including Europe, Africa, and Asia, who arrived in search of freedom, opportunity, and a better life.

Two days ago, Wednesday 29th of November,2023 I arrived Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos as a Team Delta delegate for the United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change(UNFCCC) also referred to as the Conference of the Parties 28th session (COP28).

Yesterday 30th of November, 2023, I registered, got my badge and attended the historic opening ceremony of the Conference where i witnessed the historic adoption of the decision to operationalise the loss and damage fund.

As the Delta State Government focal person on Civic Engagement, networking and engaging for Civic Advocacy for Climate Action is highly imperative, implementing Climate Action and advancing the pursuit for Climate Justice without Citizens Engagement is unrealistic and impossible. Attracting funding opportunities and possibilities takes deliberate, high powered strategic engagements and negotiations.

I am glad that the Delta State Government ably led by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori will be attending a side event being organized by the Nurses Across the Borders International here at EXPO 2020 Center (COP28) and he will be addressing the globe.

The Chairman and the Managing Director of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Chief John Nani Esq. and Chief Festus Ochnoghor inclusive of the Commissioner for Environment Comrade Ejiro Jamani will be attending, already senior staff of the ministry of environment (the Permanent Secretary and the Director of Climate Change) are already here in COP28.

With the Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and over 100 Heads of Governments, 70,000 delegates, 300 Organisations from all over the world, inclusive of Civic engagers, Civil Society Actors and Citizens Influencers already in and still coming to Dubai to drive strategic agenda for the good of their peoples and nations, Delta State Government can make so much difference and attract so much possibilities as we advance the MORE Agenda in uncommon ways. Personally I am here committed to push for the strengthening of civic advocacy for a greater Delta.

I want to thank Deacon Okezi Odugala and Pastor Peters Omorogbon for making it possible for the Team Delta to fully participate at this year's COP.
