The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has officially expressed deep concern over the title of Ini Edo’s new movie, “A Very Dirty Christmas,” labeling it “offensive and disrespectful” to the Christian faith.

In a formal statement signed by President Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the association argued that Christmas is a sacred season representing purity and redemption, and linking it to the word “dirty” diminishes its spiritual significance for millions of believers.

Beyond the title itself, CAN is questioning the NFVCB on how such a name passed through regulatory channels for public exhibition.

While the association maintains that it respects creative freedom, it insists that such freedom must be exercised with responsibility and sensitivity to religious beliefs.

They are now calling on the producers and Ini Edo to reconsider the title, issue a public apology, and treat sacred seasons with the dignity they deserve.

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of Akwa Ibom State, promising “a closer collaboration” between the Federal Government and the state under the Renewed Hope and ARISE agendas.

Tinubu gave the assurance on Friday during a meeting with the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno; and two senators from the state, Aniekan Akpan and Ekong Sampson, at the Presidential Villa.

JUST IN!!! Akwa Ibom Governor’s Daughter Accuses Father Of Sacrificing Late First Lady, Alleges Threat To Life

Jane Edidiong Ufot, the daughter of Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, has posted a video on social media accusing him of sacrificing his deceased wife (her mother). Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno died in September 2024 over an undisclosed illness.

Mrs Ufot, appointed as a senior special adviser to the governor on health, safety and environment, blasted her father, insisting that she would not be sacrificed the way her mother was, alleging a sinister threat to her life and that of her little daughter.

“I’m not a sacrifice, mummy was, but I’m not,” thundered the governor’s daughter.

Mrs Ufot handed the phone to her little daughter, who appeared to be on a video call with Mr Eno. Mrs Ufot told her daughter to ask the governor whether he wanted to kill her (his grandchild).

“So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?” the minor asked, repeating the question as instructed. “Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”

There was no audible response from the governor during the exchange, and it remains unclear who the child was referring to when she mentioned “them.”

Mrs Ufot said her life was on the line due to undisclosed revelations that may soon come to light.

“If I die today or my daughter dies. If we die because God is exposing the truth, so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” the governor’s daughter cried out.

Efforts to get the governor’s comment on his daughter’s accusations were unsuccessful as the line of his media aide, Ekerete Udoh, was switched off.
