Jesus was on a mission, traveling and proclaiming the good news of God's Kingdom. His ministry of healing, casting out demons, and forgiving sins drew many to Him. Among them were not only the Twelve Apostles but also devoted women like Mary of Magdala, Joanna, and Susanna, who left everything to follow Him.
Their total commitment challenges us to examine our own. Like the crowds who first heard Jesus, our responses can vary: some reject Him, others are intrigued, while some believe without fully committing. But for those who become true disciples, the good news is life-altering.
What is your response to the Lord? A good measure is how much time and energy you dedicate to prayer, Scripture, and learning the faith He taught. Does His message truly guide your decisions? Christianity cannot be compartmentalized into a weekly "faith time." To be "all in" means allowing Jesus and His mission to permeate everything you do. Our daily work, family duties, and chores should be offered for God's glory and aligned with His will.
The first disciples still performed ordinary tasks, but their lives were oriented toward their ultimate mission. Reflect today on how you can consecrate every part of your life to Christ. This doesn't require a dramatic change in occupation but a change of heart, inviting Jesus into every activity, all day long. In doing so, you become one of His faithful disciples, completely dedicated to Him.
