Note this about Litotes:
Litotes usually uses negative words such as "not," "no," or "nothing" together with the opposite of what the speaker really means. However, not every sentence containing "not," "no," "never," or "nothing" is an example of litotes. A sentence is litotes only when the negative expression is used to suggest the positive opposite, such as "not bad" (good), "no small task" (a very difficult task).
